Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Sony and Microsoft Core gamers only! Realistically, will you ever buy a Nintendo product again?

I would definitely consider it, but not for 1 game alone. I thin it will come down to exclusives.
Smash Bros is one of those games. Zelda/Mario/etc I don't care about. Nintendo needs to impress me. I'd like to see them create some new IP for the adult gamer.

Yes but I wouldn't buy one for Zelda, F-Zero or Xenoblade.

Really if there wasn't a Wii emulator for PC that could play Wii games in HD I may have bought the Wii by now for ~100€.

It's looking bleek.

Every time they release one, I always say I'm going to get one eventually, but they're always soooo disappointing. The closest I've been to buying a Nintendo product was the Game Cube, but I bought that for my little sister. She never used it.

I am the Playstation Avenger.

Lets take this absurd topic to its logical conclusion: why would I, a PC gamer, ever bother with the PS4 and '720' when 95%+ of their games will show up on it, almost certainly with better controls and better visuals, no fees for online play--and on dedicated servers, at that--none of the issues with backwards compatibility or having my games locked out because SONY, for example, decided that I'll have to keep a working PS3 for *eternity* to keep playing all my DL content, and game prices that are, in general, substantially less, particularly over time, than on those machines? Seriously? Why bother with those machines unless you must play Uncharted XIII or Halo IX? And the answer? The same one you'd get from your hypothetical about which games you'd have to buy a U to play.

The point is, duh, it's about exclusive content, and until Nintendo games show up on some other platform, I'll be buying every NIntendo platform from here until the day I die, which is not the same for Sony and MS' next consoles which feature *exclusives* I just dont' care about.

I bought the WiiU even though i really didnt like the wii. Ive loved every other nintendo console though

Hell NO, I don't care for Mario and that's all they seem to release every year non stop

Without order nothing can exist - without chaos nothing can evolve.

"I don't debate, I just give you that work"- Ji99saw

no.

There are a certain portion of these "hardcore" that will NEVER buy a Nintendo product, even if they made a console that had photorealistic graphics, made you dinner, and launched with a game called "Extreme Awesome Guns, Hookers, Boobs, and Blood"

Some of them have hate for Nintendo rooted far too deep to ever be yanked from the foundation.

As someone who has bought every major Nintendo home console up to GameCube and every Nintendo handheld up to DS, I can say that Nintendo has lost most of my business since this last generation, and literally thousands of dollars have been diverted to Sony and Microsoft. While I'm considering picking up a 3DS for Shin Megami Tensei and Gyakuten Saiban, I doubt I will buy a Nintendo home console until they end their recent policies of peddling ancient hardware at unreasonable prices (for outdated technology) with attached gimmicks.

Also, I'll say the Nintendo fans on this forum are a generally reasonable bunch of folks. However, the New Age "hardcore" Nintendo fans in Japan are literally a cult and I want absolutely nothing to do with them. At least a good number of them have disappeared from forums and gone to the Miiverse...
