If Sony announces a partnership with Apple, so that the PS4 is branded with an Apple Logo and sold in Apple Stores, they will sell 16 Million Units at the very first weekend. :P

I don't know, maybe Sony has something really really amazin that makes everybody want the console. But even then, the pure logistics for such a high number would be insane. So I highly doubt it. I'm not gonna call it impossible though, as I once called impossible on Wii selling 20 Million units a year. It then went on to sell even more...

Considering the PS3 shipped 3.5 (you have it at 4 total) million with its outrageous price tag and staggered launch (Europe was 3 months later), I think getting closer to 5-6 million shipped in a 6 month window is crazy.

Article is garbage. Sony can't make them that quick, consumers won't buy them that quick, they can't be shipped that quick and stores can't stock that many. Maybe if they are $150 and the size of an iPod....wait maybe that's why they didn't show the system?!?!?

The only way this could happen is if they had a long term subsciption model like $99 initially then $20/month for 3 years with all the gaikai and plus stuff included. I'm not saying this will happen at all just saying it's the only way I could envision this rumor being true which I don't think it is. Even then it would be optimistic.

You can quote me on this.  There is no way at all that Sony will ship/sell 16 million PS4 systems in 2013.  I doubt that they will ship/sell 5 million.
