isn't that true for all?

I find Windows 7 (Professional) to be amazingly stable, and once you get past the "omg where'd they move this to??" stage, it's actually quite a breeze to troubleshoot and maintain. Especially in a network environment, the Win 7 and Server 2008 combo has been pretty awesome.

As for companies that are "only out for your money" or "soulless", aren't they all? I mean take a look at Sony's portfolio. before they got into videogames, their core strength was their music market. They ripped off and bankrupted so many recording artists for decades that I'm pretty sure that Sony has a level of hell set aside all for itself. =D

If anyone should be watched, I'd say Google - they control your browsing, your smartphone (android), gps systems, and pretty much most of anything you do in the cloud. They've expanded out in a way that raises more alarms for me than MS.

Btw, if you want to deal with the WORST tech support/customer service, give Apple a call. HORRENDOUS.

There can be no doubt that Microsoft has a much better track record of supporting legacy operating systems than Apple (that support is probably something that has significantly slowed Microsoft's ability to innovate).  Much of Apple's own software only supports the most recent or two most recent Mac OS X releases (this is only partly justified by the much higher adoption rate of OS X upgrades).  But, boy did you ever pick the wrong battle, because Apple sets the gold standard for the smartphone industry.

You can quibble about older phones with 1/4 the RAM and processing power not getting all the features of the latest phones, but that is infinitely better than the vast majority of phones, which don't receive updates AT ALL (in some cases, not even security updates).  By far the largest plurality of Android phones are stuck running Gingerbread, according to Google's own numbers.  Apple has consistently supported every iPhone for at least 2 years — the iPhone 3GS, which is getting on 4 years old is still supported by last week's 6.1.2 update.  Meanwhile, the poor sods who bought WP7 phones get shafted, despite Microsoft's commitment to do a better job than Google of enforcing updates from carriers.

How is this thread not locked?  It's obvious troll bait.  A thread like this would have been locked almost immediately on NEOGAF and the poster banned so why is it tolerated on here?  There was a time when VGChartz used to be my first stop on the Internet and now it's my last and it seems like a chore to even try to wade through the shit for the few gems of good converation.

I think what he means is that yes, Apple, MS, Sony and Nintendo are all out for your money BUT, MS is by far the worst of the bunch.

Unless it's a troll, my opinion is that people should be heard regardless. That's the entire point of internet forums, to be heard and exchange thought.
