Forums - Sales Discussion - God of War Ascension vs Gears of War Judgment: Lifetime sales

Which game will have a higher lifetime sales globally?

God of War: Ascension 162 72.65%

Gears of War: Judgement 61 27.35%

Total:223

Doesnt lookk good for Gears of War.

The 3rd game came in 2011, people are tired of the series already.

its a great game but needs new like aka next gen reboot.

Gears of war should have held off until next gen to release judgement, God of war will sell better than it but probably only by 500k

The poll question should really just ask, "Hey fanboys, which game will you buy?" Because that's what the poll results will really tell you.

this is going to be a close one. god of war should sell better because theres hasnt been one on ps3 since 2010 and god of war gets strong support in US like gears of war does. alot of gears fans wont get judgement because its a side title or they're just bored of the franchise now.

Judgment is flat-lining. If I'm not mistaken, it had less pre-orders this week and last. That's not good for one of your major exclusives. I think Ascension will outsell it easily this year and lifetime.

Originally, I thought this would a heavyweight battle, but I don't think either game will sell nearly as much as either GOW3s.

Don't go by VGC pre orders they have a knack for undertracking PS3 exclusives and overtracking 360 exclusives. And God of War 3 should be sitting at least at around 5.2 million according to Sony's Statement. God of War A: should sell about 4-4.5 million by the end of the day. Gears of War probably won't go past 3.5 million but then again I could be mistaken.

As far as metacritic goes, both games are hovering around 79 which is subpar for both franchises

I'm supremely confident that Judgment has already outsold Ascension in the U.S. and is now putting some distance between the two. So Ascension will have to do pretty good in mainland Europe since Japan isn't going to pick up the slack and UK will be in Judgment's favor.
