Wii, had to wait 4 weeks before I got mine because it was sold out everywhere.

It seems like either people got a Sega system really late or really early.

Closest was Wii, at launch. I give it precedence over 3DS and Wii U because you almost literally had to kill someone to get it at launch without a preorder. My latest is a Sega Dreamcast, I just got one last year with tons of accessories for like $40. It's my first Sega system xD.

PSP = 12 days after its Japan release (24 December 2004)
PS1 = 3 years after its relase (1998)

Well I can't remember NES and the SNES gen as I was too young to buy them myself. I guess earliest would be N64, Dreamcast, GameCube, Xbox, Xbox 360, and PS3 as I purchased all of those at launch. The latest would be PS1 & PS2, I bought both about 2yrs after launch.

I have bought all my consoles that i knew i was gonna play at launch or near it anyways but the longest was the PS3 (bought it in 2011) just because i already had a 360 and nothing was appealing to me that the 360 didnt already have. Dont get me wrong i loved the PS1 and PS2 but its like the PS3 had nothing to offer because i was not a fan of God of War,Metal Gear,Racing games and all my shooting games i loved were on the 360 such as Gears of War,Halo,Army of Two,ect..

Genesis - Sonic,Streets of Rage
N64 - Nintendo Series (Mario,Zelda,Kirby ect...)
PS1 - RPGs and more RPGs
Dreamcast - Sonic,Shenmue,Few select RPGs
Gamecube - Nintendo exclusives
Xbox - Halos and a few select games such as Jade Empire,Knights of the Round,Conker
PS2 - RPGs and more RPGs
Wii - Nintendo exclusives
360 - Gears,Halo,Other shooters, Few select RPGs
PS3 - Unknown since JRPGs are almost unfound this gen and WRPGs are on the 360 as well
Wii U - So far Nintendo exclusives but id be willing to try other things if it get them.

So mainly my PS3 collects dust but i do own a few games for it such as the Uncharted series,Resistance series, and the newly released Ni No Kuni :D (where is the FFX HD at???) I do hope JRPGs return to the states next gen in higher numbers and which ever consoles gets them will have my attention :D

I myself have every console Sony has released in the states, and I deliberately waited on buying a PS3. Had I not had extra cash back in '07, I don't even know when I would've gotten one. I can't realy blame you.

I bought my Wii at launch, and I waited for the 3DS price cut.
