Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Toon graphics for (ground-up) Wii U Zelda would be a terrible idea

I'm sure they wont go for toon style. That is why they are making the Wind Waker remake.

I would hope nintendo to learn already that when they tease something, they have to deliver something like that or everyone will be disappointed. Anything less than the realistic Zelda we saw on the Wii U graphics demo will be disappointment. I am expecting disappointment on that front, but that doesnt mean i cant embrace the new Zelda. They are always good games.

Thats the last thing they should do, I want it to look like the 2011 CGI trailer.

what CG trailer?

He seems to be one of the people that think the Interactive 3D DEMO  was simply a movie.

The Zelda HD Experience is as much a game as other stuff is (e.g. DragonQuest Sword, Dead Space Extraction)  but in the HD experience thing you played the camera not  Link :)

No, if they did it right, it would be the best thing in the world.

Wind Waker HD ruins a lot of the style that made the original so good, if they made it look like WW, it would be amazing.

they said it won't look like the demo at E3 nor will it look like SS or WW. they said while doing experiment's they came up with a totally unique style

I don't mind either way. I'm sure it will be enchanting no matter what, as usual :)

Meh, as long as the game is good, I will like it.

Time has shown most gamers have come to really like the Wind Waker graphics, if anything most of the complaints about Wind Waker HD have been it not looking as cartoon like as the previous version due to how the lighting and character models looked in the screen shots. So I think the idea that people would flock to a Zelda game that had more realistic graphics is ill conceived.

Such graphics didn't save Darksiders 2 developers, nor did it necessarily improve the chances of the dozens of other games that have hit the market and failed to make the impact they wanted. Zelda's main issues in recent games have been trying to break out of the OoT formula while retaining the fun and excitement not graphical style. Which is tainted by the graphics of the time of its release because Zelda has never been aiming toward 'realism' anyway.

these are styles I would like to see

they are unique from what we have had before even if they might be use the same technique

these look amazing!
