Forums - Nintendo Discussion - What Nintendo's Developing: Internal and External Studios

For a studio that isn't exactly large, I feel like this is too much, and it seems like Sticker Star's quality may have suffered because of it.

I think it was explained in the Iwata Asks that Sticker Star was at least co-developed with an external studio and Intelligent Systems merely oversaw key aspects of the game's design. Vanpool did a lot of the actual development work.

The Screamapillar is easily identified by its constant screaming—it even screams in its sleep. The Screamapillar is the favorite food of everything, is sexually attracted to fire, and needs constant reassurance or it will die.

Funny how every studio can be tied up and yet neither 3DS nor Wii U has anything coming out.

What are the plausible E3 games for this year? Mario Kart? Retro project?

i think they wont put out mario kart wii until a lot of people would buy a lot tablet controller... i think they would heavily apply the second screen on the next mario... using it as a second wind screen.. like probably a dark room or petroleum tracks or something....

This reveals that Nintendo needs more studios to keep the games flowing.

Why did they close Project Sora? They performed somewhat OK with the new Kid Icarus. I bet they could have made a cool new IP given the chance.

Or at least out source some of their IP's in a very similar way the way they handled KI:U; by having a creative core from Nintendo and a second studio to actually make the game. They kinda did this with OoT3DS and Grezzo; keep doing THAT Nintendo!!

Furthermore, I think VGChartz should add a "Like"-button.

That's weird... I don't remember writing that quote, and what's weirder still is that I wouldn't have made such a remark since I haven't played the game... But it seems as if Nintendo could do this kind of co-development more often - at least for lesser known IP's!

Hey, those ideas for MKU isn't half bad! That would be kinda awesome actually! Unfortunately only one or two people would be able to  enjoy that sort of game play at the same time ^^

yeah thats why i think they would wait until the wiiu number is high and the number of people who bought a second tablet controller is decent for it to be executed for the mk8

No way are the 3D Mario, Zelda or SSB coming sooner than holiday 2014.

I beg to differ -- I'm sure Ninendo really wants 3D Mario on Wii U this year. They're going to try very hard to make that happen.

I think we'll get Zelda this year, too -- the catch is that it won't be a first-party Nintendo Zelda. It'll be a Grezzo Zelda.

I don't see Nintendo prioritizing a Mario game when they are already getting flak for having too much Mario too soon... even if it is on different systems.

The one that is due is a Metroid game... I mean it's been a long while since Metroid - Other M and an even longer time since Metroid Prime 3

A Zelda game will always be welcome for me

They really need something new... Sony gets most of my mindshare as a gamer because they are consistently releasing new IPs while it has been a long time since Nintendo has done that. I think Wii Sports and Geist was their last attempt.

But then we would have to wait until 2014 for that :O
