Operation Rainfall did dick all, Nintendo always planned to stretch out its game releases for the west rather than make new ones. Been there MO for years now.

For once, this is actually pretty (extremely) unlikely.

Anyhow, what would be the point of this petition thingy? Most, if not all, the big Nintendo games are already due for localization sometime this year. Geez spurge, ya sell your 3DS and then you go cold turkey on the news, huh?!

There can never be too much rainfall.

Now that Nintendo has a digital store and doesn't have to deal with inventory risk, they should bring over as much as they can.

I LOVE ICELAND!

Only problem is, those smaller titles probably don't have quite the number of eager fans like Xenoblade, The Last Story, and Pandora's Tower had that can actually merit something like Operation Rainfall. I'm not so sure a new "Operation Rainfall" movement would even get noticed for these far more niche titles.

Also, to everyone in the thread, let's stop acting like these things have to be aimed at Nintendo, considering all Nintendo did in "response" to Operation Rainfall is a limited release of Xenoblade Chronicles and nothing more.

That limited release was one of the best decisions Nintendo did in a while.

I'm glad they did any release at all and making it limited may have helped it sell, but I still get this feeling that Nintendo is far too hesitant on these kinds of releases considering it took Xseed to bring The Last Story and now Pandora's Tower here.

wait all three games? man it's true I just googled it! I had no hopes with pandora's tower so this are great news, yet haters keep saying the wii is dead and buried. Xseed made a great business with the last story so they should become the official localizer (I don't know if that is the correct word) for games that nintendo does not want to bring

right now let's support http://www.facebook.com/OperationMoonfall

lol if we here in Europe started petitions like operation rainfall for every game that doesn't make it over to our territory or gets delayed, well what can I say....it would be raining all day every day....which it does here in the UK, so not much would be different.

That said I'm all for getting more Japanese games localised, especially dem JRPGs :)

I insist operation rainfall had nothing to do with the games coming out in america, that was the plan all along.

Few games don't receive such a petition, at least in the U.S. The scale and organization of Rainfall are what seem to set it apart from the thousand other petitions that have preceded and followed.

The unifying feature of the three games involved in Operation Rainfall was that they were all published by Nintendo. Nintendo is actually localizing pretty much all of their 3DS games. For instance, if there was to be an Operation Rainfall 3DS, it would probably focus on Bravely Default, Project X Zone, and... let's say Professor Layton vs Ace Attorney.

These games are split between three different publishers (Square Enix, Namco Bandai, and Level-5 respectively). There's no simple way to petition for all three games at once. You'd be splitting your attention between three different companies, probably more since Capcom is also involved in PLvAA, and since people who don't know any better would continue shouting at and blaming Nintendo for these games not coming over.

There is an alternative. Patience. Rainfall was sparked by the revelation that Nintendo did not show the games at E3 because they did not plan on releasing them in America. The Wii was at the end of its life, so there was a definite "now or never" vibe to the campaign. The 3DS, on the other hand, is just getting warmed up, and there is no such information to suggest that these games will not be localized. Give it time.

If you want to petition anyone, I say petition Level-5. They've released quite a few games in Japan that have little chance of coming to America, because they have little chance of selling well at all in America. Inazuma Eleven, Time Travelers, Girls RPG -- these games (excepting IE) didn't even sell well in Japan. Level-5 will need some convincing that these games will sell before bringing them West, and for good reason, because they likely won't.
