Do you believe Video Game Violence is a problem?

Yes 10 14.08%

No 60 84.51%

Total:70

The same parents that believe video game violence is a problem are probably the same parents who buy these violent games for there children. It's rated 18+ for a reason you know! They are not supposed to play them! Little kids ruin gaming anyway, annoying squeakers!

Xbox One, PS4 and Switch (+ Many Retro Consoles)

They're not supposed to BUY them. As long as their parents allow them to, they can play whatever they damn well please.

EDIT: You're the same age as me for christ's sake. Are you basically saying you think you shouldn't be allowed to play Call of Duty?

Well it's different for us, i'm obviously more mature than an 8 year old, who shouldn't play shooters anyway. Maybe, i should of said people should follow the age rating better than they do, like a 16 or 17 year old can still play an 18+ game, but not someone who's 5 or something like that. If you are young enough to believe anything, you shouldn't play violent games

I've been playing violent video games since I was like 5, and all it's done is desensitise me to scenes of gore and war and stuff. I'm not a murdering psychopath (though I do want to dismember and slaughter nintendopie), I understand very clearly the boundaries between reality and the virtual world. I get that it's not the same for every kid, but surely this is a problem with parenting rather than the video games themselves - the certificates exist for a reason.

It depends on how well the child has been bought up and the game really. I very rarely see a game that I don't think would be suitable for someone under the age of 13. Violence in movies is far more graphic and realistic than it will ever be in games in my opinion. I've been playing games like Resident Evil since I was 4, I would happily let my kids do the same.

Should be more like this...

Study: 89% of parents believe violent video games are a problem. Upon answering this survey 100% of those 89% went out and bought the brand new Halo for their child. One parent said while waiting in line, "This world needs more heros like Master Cheif to stand up for what is right."

Found out over Christmas my 9-year-old cousin plays Halo. Wanted to punch somebody. My uncle should know better, too, he's a gamer.

Of course, the kid also plays Kinect Sports, Mario Kart, and Pokémon. I'm sure he'll be fine. But come on... Halo? Really?

My brother has been playing GTA since he was 9. I knew about it but i monitored his games and always reminded him that you can't be doing this shit IRL. He's 14 now and is saving up for GTA5. If a parent is gonna buy a kid a M raed, you gotta at least talk to the kid about the damn game. Make sure they draw the line between a game and real life, it's that simple.

89% of parents don't even know what video games truly are.

Quite a worrying statistic, but these 89% are probably people who never play videogames anyway.

Here lies the dearly departed Nintendomination Thread.

the same 89% of people in this survey were found to be morons without a functioning brain.
