"It failed to outsell PS3 at launch"

Wrong. Dec 06 PS3 > Dec 12 Wii U, but Wii U launch > PS3 launch.

Not if you include European launch from March 07

That's the correct code for joke-threads.

That would be offensive, I refrain from offending anyone. Just want to have a chit chat with what was who.

Nintendo clearly sells consoles with its games. Just look at the announcement of the new Pokemon game- people are ready to drop $170 for the outdated hardware just to play that one game. I know the Mario U game didn't move that many consoles but come on we had like 4 different releases of that game in such close windows. Games that will turn Wii U around- Mario Kart U, new Zelda, Mario galaxy 3, super smash bros,,new metro if game, Xenoblade 2 (Nintendo owns the studio right?), etc.

Nintendo is just fine. Right now they are just banking off the early adopters like they did with 3DS.

I never wished bad things for the Vita and it's obvious when someone makes a thread about the console that it's not of their preference, most of the time for revenge. And that fact sadness me a gamer...

People buy Nintendo consoles to play Nintendo games.

There was two Nintendo developed titles at launch: A new IP and a game that is basically already available for the 3DS and Wii.

The mystery is solved.

Talk about what? People seem to have these unrealistic expectations on how much the Wii U should be selling right now.

Agreed that Nintendo hampered NSMBU a bit, but a new Mario is still a new Mario, NSMBU is a completely different game from any other NSMB game.

Nintendo Land also features a lot of Nintendo IP.

The Wii really only launched with Zelda (which actually was on the GameCube as well, more or less the same game) and no other real Nintendo franchise. "Excitetruck" was a very loose spin-off of the obscure Excitebike.

It's numbers are disappointing yes, however horribly is putting it too far imho.
