Forums - Politics Discussion - Joe Biden appeals to games industry on gun control task force

I have no problem with any of this, really, other than the NRA's weaselly little attempt to shift public attention. Let them talk to experts, let them do research. That's good, in my opinion, as long as it's done objectively.

At some point, however, someone is going to have to point out that the overwhelming majority of children playing violent videogames are getting them from their parents. Unless they're willing to discuss mass censorship, which I hope would never fly in this country, then they're going to have to pin most of the responsibility on parents.

Once again they are blaming everything EXCEPT the people that are shooting the guns! Because in this day and age even child murdering rapists are above reproach. Its either the Guns faults or now they are saying video games. This is getting really annoying.

It's part of the political correctness. Attack certain ideas, never a person or a group of people. There are potential voters involved after all

Ever felt awkward when seeing the mother of a friend punishing him when you were younger?  Reasonably you should have expected it, but... that mother doesn't feel like the same person anymore.  It's more or less the same thing I think.

Of course, his son is part of the US military. No gun violence there.

I also understand how difficult or impossible that may turn out to be; then again I also feel we should have the ability to purchase hand guns to defend our homes, but why do we need to carry the weapons around with us? So we can defend our homes but not our bodies?

Another issue automatic weapons should be permanent banned we don't need that much firepower period. Hell even our own trained police can't even judge who has a gun or doesn't. They are banned.

Lastly we have background checks for fire arms yet anyone can go to Walmart and but a shotgun or rifle with no checks. What the fuck are you talking about? You totally contradicted yourself and make no sense.

Here is Roger Ebert's take on it. I know he is not popular among gamers due to whole video games and art debate but he is person whose opinion i have respected even if i have not always agreed.

And Roger is probably 100% correct.

iPhone = Great gaming device. Don't agree? Who cares, because you're wrong.

All I have to say is, what a freaking joke.

Estelle and Adol... best characters ever! XD

Well... unlike guns, at least there is a correlation between violent videogames and violent crimes/murders/shootings.

So at least there is a sliver of something there... Of course, the problem is most politicians don't know the difference between correlation and causation. It's why before you run of senator you should have to be able to pass a scientific understanding literacy test.

Videogames are to blame for lots of murders. What people forget however is games like Angry Birds actually kill more people than COD. People who don't experience human interaction are the ones usually associating low value with human life. Staring at screens for 20 hours growing a farm is bad for you. Hanging with three other friends on the couch killing thousands isn't.
