Seriously I'm a 32 year old guy and I actually got tears in my eyes atleast 5 times reading the last book and I'm sorry to say but at one time I was actually crying

Started reading the series 1993..

Oh fuck.... how good is it? I'm sure I'll cry like a baby when I read it!! I've been following this since early 1996...

This last book.. I don't know... lets just say that... um..the shocking deaths in  Games of thrones have nothing on this book

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO :-O muthafukkindamnitalltohellIwannareaditnow!!!! There's so many questions I wanna ask, but I'm trying really hard not to spoil it for myself!!

Gör det då :p  bara beställa från sci-fi bokhandeln tex

If it isn't turnbased it isn't worth playing   (mostly)

And shepherds we shall be,

For Thee, my Lord, for Thee. Power hath descended forth from Thy hand, That our feet may swiftly carry out Thy command. So we shall flow a river forth to Thee And teeming with souls shall it ever be. In Nomine Patris, et Filii, et Spiritūs Sancti. -----The Boondock Saints

Try not to spoil anything guys. Even mentioning "shocking deaths" is giving away.

Almost done with it!! Youll have to make a spoiler thread when you are done reading it so we can really discuss it!

Also, just have to say I like Sandersons books a lot. It sucks jordan died, but sanderson has done a spectacular job! And he lives by me so i get all my books signed

I've read the first 9 books.
Planning to start a re-read soon and then catch up on the remainder of the serie..
It's a good serie but things drag a bit. Personally I prefer the Malazhan book of the Fallen.

PS3-Xbox360 gap : 1.5 millions and going up in PS3 favor !

PS3-Wii gap : 20 millions and going down !

Thats awsome. I think he's done a spectacular job. If I lived in Utah I'd stop by BYU and hang around the English/Lit building waiting for a sig. It's not stalking if you just want an autograph right?

You'll have to make your own spoiler thread if you want one soon. It's going to take me awhile. I only read a chapter or two a night before going to bed.

Yeah, he really picked up the pace of the series! It dragged a bit there, but as soon as Sanderson was unboard - BAM!

It really picks up as soon as Sanderson is onboard!

I've been thining about picking up Malazhan for a while now! In short; what's it all about? :p

Malazan changes characters pratically every book so it's hard to tell what's about. It's mostly a gritty high magic world, with gods and the like messing around. The overall plot of the first books ressemble a lot Glen Cook's Black Company, just like the first WoT books copy Lord of the Rings.

Basically at first you have platoon of soldiers under the shadow of a large empire, some gritty rebels and extremely powerful magical forces at large playing their own games. You don't get much on character development and their names are horrible, by the way (Whiskeyjack, Croaker, Sorry, Kruppe... I mean, what the hell? Glen Cook does the same but there's a metaphysical reason within their books for that) so you don't get much emotionally attached when they die by the lot, but if you are looking for epic, Malazan's just as epic as it gets.

That actually sounds pretty interesting... Ever since I read the Iliad I've wanted some fantasy where the gods are more involved in the story. David Eddings tried this but did a rather poor job... And I haven't read anything by Glen Cook, so I wouldn't know ^^

I do like epic fantasy, so I might give it a go! and really, half way in the series Robert Jordan didn't come up with any more good names ^^
