The person known as James Rolfe, "The Angry Video Game Nerd" or "The Angry Nintendo Nerd" (along with his friends/associates) have had their channel suspended/revoked by YouTube today :(

I heard that Sega and other gaming companies are starting to clamp down on videos of their classic games. kinda unfourtunate

Not sure about that.
But I think it has to do something with the videos his friend "Mike" did as it consisted of audio/visual content from old TV shows and Movies which would of course would easily flag YouTube's censors lol.

It's probably automatic, a company uploaded their content to the matching system and it took down everything immediately. It'll be back soon.
Solution: Takedowns should require an individual notice filed by a human being with the ability for dispute and review before it's taken down.
