Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Konami: "No chance" for a Wii U version of Castlevania Lords of Shadow 2

what nintendo is doing with the 3DS ripping everything in their path, and now with the anouncement of pokemon x and y to be released worlwide at the same time, i will stick to my Wii U for at least 2 years. i just realize it is not the DS or the Wii innovation, it is nintendo perfecting their bussiness strategy. they are selling anything by millions. So I will keep going with them, probably i will buy my first handheld and pokemon title. third party support will have to move to nintendo, specially japanese developers, because Wii U will sell really good there we might end up getting good japanese games. hoping western follow suit, but they are always denying nintendo because they feel ofended kiddy games sell millions and they can't.

I still don't get why they are making Castlevania for the 3DS. It's just stupid to make a Castlevania game for the 3DS, but not release it on the Wii U. Especially when the story in Mirror of Fate is supposed to tie heavily into LOS1/2.

As a guy who follows this dude on Twitter:

He's said in the past that they would put the game on the Wii U if they had the resources for it. If they had the resources for it they'd put it on just about everything because they want it to be played by as many people as possible.

But they don't.

The realities of their finances dictate that the game will be on PS3, 360, and PC, and that's it.

And there's nothing wrong with that.

Konami really has no idea what it's doing. Hasn't for a while. If it weren't for Kojima and Yu-Gi-Oh, they'd be in the rubbish bin of history by now.

Is this supposed to be a joke

Badly misplaced. Well, in that it exists.

I wonder if it´ll only get worse once we start seeing 3rd party multiplatform games for PS4/NextXbox.

Are you still somewhat hopeful the Wii U won´t be 'another Wii' when it comes to 3rd party support?

Yes, sadly enough. I expected third parties wanted money, not un-money.

People are all like "Oh Konami is shafting Nintendo bloo bloo"

That isn't what's happening, here.

This game is not being developed internally by Konami. It is being developed by Mercurysteam. It began development in 2010 or 2011, before the Wii U specs were really out there for small developers like this one. Mercurysteam was given a certain budget and told to make the game within the confines of that budget. They (Mercurysteam) made a list of things they wanted in it. One of those was a PC version. They cut out some things so that it would fit the budget. Putting it on more platforms would require removing features in order to fit the budget.

Video game development is not that cut and dry, and neither is the publisher/developer relationship.

Likely i'd be more merciful if i hadn't spent all day yesterday arguing over EA's obstinance.
