Forums - Gaming Discussion - How can Nintendo win you over at E3/2013?

Another thing that I would like would be consistent momentum. This Spring, the PS3 has a really steady flow of fantastic third party and first party games. They are spaced well, and there is a good quantity. Nintendo tends to release 2 or 3 games every other year that are ranging from decent to fantastic. More games, at a more healthy release schedule.

Zelda, or Monolith's game, just that and I can die in peace.

Dont ever say that!!! I said the same thing when brawl came lol! Glad im alive cuz now wen i get SSB4 i could happy LMAO

I think Nintendo stands a pretty good chance of having one of the strongest E3 lineups this year. It's now peak software release time for 3DS now that it's in it's prime, so I'm not even worried about that. 3DS software this year is sure to be there, and it's sure to be great.

Wii U is the big question. I think it's 99% guaranteed that EAD Tokyo's 3D Mario is now more than a year into development, so that game could conceivably be out in time for the holidays. At the very least a trailer and game info at E3, even if not playable.

It's more than likely that the rumor of Monster Games making Diddy Kong racing is true, so I expect that to be at the show in full force, with an early fall release date.

Retro's game/games will be ready to show by June, most likely. I'd be shocked if Retro wasn't the studio set to deliver the big AAA holiday Wii U game this year. They've now had at the very least two full years of development time. It's gotta be getting close to being finished, whatever it is. My money is on a reboot of Metroid, not necessarily a continuation of Prime.

Zelda is the big question mark. No question on the 3DS side, Grezzo by this summer will have had two years of development time to make whatever it is Nintendo's had them make. My guess is either a remake of Majora's Mask like they did with OoT, or perhaps they're assisting with development of a sequel to Link to the Past that Miyamoto keeps hinting at. Maybe both? Either way, they'll have a Zelda for 3DS by Christmas for sure. But still the big question mark remains... will Zelda Wii U be in a state that they can show off polished graphics and gameplay details? At the most, the game is barely a year into development. I think maybe a trailer with no playable demo is the best we can realistically hope for at E3. It's probably not going to be done until late 2014.

Smash Bros. of course is the one everyone knows will be there, so it's just a matter of when Nintendo will be able to have it ready. A playable demo and a game nearing 50% completion wouldn't be too unrealistic. I'd say it gets the full unveiling at E3, both for Wii U and 3DS, and gets a spring 2014 launch window.

I have both of Nintendo's products right now, but I am quite disappointed with the 3DS, and underwhelmed by the Wii U. Here is what would  impress me.

1. Metroid in some form. I'm craving a new installment from my favorite video game franchise. Something that wipes away the pissy taste of Other M. 3DS or Wii U, or preferably both, I need Metroid very soon.

 I agree

2. Improved 3DS support in general.  I have been extremely disappointed with my 3DS thus far. It's inital lukewarm reception sent Nintendo in a frenzy to make as many mediocre Mario games as they could. The last time I played a 3DS game was NSMB2, and the last time I enjoyed a 3DS game was Kid Icarus. Now days I use it for playing Metroid fusion. I've beaten it twice. New games please.

I disagree. The mario 3d land is an amazing game, one of the best mario games ever. And about the games, maybe the retail games were not the best and very few, however the e-shop is full of amazing 1st and 3rd party games. New games are always welcome though!

3. Improved online- I hate to beat a dead horse (trust me this horse is dead it's corpse is rotting in my dumpster) but the online system is still not there. Miiverse is a good idea, but now they need to expand upon it. Messaging needs to be easier, there needs to be voice chat through the microphone, and the ability to join games(3DS has this feature).  I really like a lot of the people on my 3DS and Wii U friends list, but communicating with them is like pulling teeth from a Chimpanzee with AIDS.

the only is fine to me...

4. More exclusvie third party- I buy Nintendo systems for the exclusives. Whether they be third party or first. I know that the Wii U multiplats will be inferior to PS4 Nextbox versions, so I will just buy those on the more powerful systems. Bayonetta 2 was a nice gesture, they should do more of this.

I am sure Bayonetta is not going to be the only exclusive game nintendo is cooking at the moment.

5. Retro- Whatever Retro is doing needs to be announced, and it needs to be something I care about. DKCR was one of my favorite Wii games, but it was really wasting Retro's potential. A 2D platformer from the studio that made Metroid Prime?! I want it to be at E3, and I want it to be ambitious.

I dont agree. DK was as good as any metroid game.

All of that is IMHO...

As of for me? All they have to do is get good Japanese support and new games. Star fox from Kamiya and a new fzero would be nice!

I own a 3DS and for me if they just localize several titles I will be happy in 2013, I really do not feel that is asking much.

A 3D portable Zelda, a 3D Zelda for the U, Metroid and smash bros. That's all I want for now, I'm craving it.

well I'm already in but I would like them to bring more 3rd party support so that both I and them can benefit from it.

me not having to buy another console and them for selling more consoles for those who want more than 1rst party games.

I don't think they will show a new Metroid but Retro's game will surely be there
I'm pretty sure there will be a 3D Mario for WiiU and a Zelda for 3DS
maybe Animal crossing for WiiU, that I want more than the 3DS game honestly as it would be a beautiful game. judging from the mini game in N-land!

no more 2D Mario for any of the consoles this gen!

Eternal Darkness 2 would be amazing to get at E3!

    R.I.P Mr Iwata :'(

Things that are 100% certain to be on the show:

- Mario 3D for Wii U
- Zelda for 3DS
- Retro Studios secret games

So, Nintendo needs to show more than that, because SURPRISES are what wins the crowd.
