If Sony actually implemented this then I doubt the PS4 would last long. GameStop and other gaming retailers would likely boycott it.

Wii U will sell under 40m units (made on 14th September 2012)

PS Vita will sell under 20m units (made on 30th September 2012)

Wii U will sell under 7m in 2013 - I was right

Halo 4 first 9 weeks sales prediction

if it mates the disc with the console, than what happens if your system breaks and they send you a new one, or if you buy a new system, than you can't use that disc on the new console?

kind of uncalled for.  I'm pretty sure i can name a few things you have been wrong about ;)

Anyways I dont see them doing this.  Sure it's an option but it is dangerous if they do.  It's a good way of making people mad.  This goes to both MSFT and Sony as both has been rumored on doing this in the past.  First time we have seen a patent but it's still an option for a moment.
