Yugoslavia is not even a country.

Again, why is this list missing more than 120 countries?

Serbia is the successor of Yugoslavia, obviously -_-

All those random rankings... I was born in the second 'best' country. According to some other random rankings I live in the most livable city in the world. I must be in heaven, I guess?

Singapore is clean, efficient, melting pot of cultures, but just about the same size of a pot.  When a City State gets so small, where no matter how many turns you take, you drive by Takashimaya again, that is like playing an MMO but stuck in starter town.  And trust me Singlish is funny to hear until you realize it ain't no joke.  And God forbid you commit a crime trivialized in most countries, your ass will be caned with a cane soaked in horse urine so that the scar will NEVER fade.  Think Survivor mode is fun in games?  Try living in real life in a country where weed larger than a quarter's size = death sentence.  Great place to visit, great place to harbor assets, a place to sojourn, but no place to end up for life.  (Unless you get drunk and commmit some crime and do life with Singlish speaking cell mates)

I don't know about the others, but a professor of mine and I were chatting the other day and he had nothing but good things to say about Singapore. I don't know about the stuff you mentioned, but he talked about how people their are taken care of from the day they are born, the government pays for their school and higher education (even up to MSc and PhD), medical expenses, as well as a ton of other stuff I can't remember. You're born there and you're pretty much set for life.

Well I wasnt born there, and I'm set for life, cuz I came to America, where everything seems wrong except if you want it you still might get it.  America only charges $500k for a green card nowadays, Singapore charges $1.5 mil and Canada charges somewhere in between.  In Singapore, if you want to drive a porsche 911, you will have to pay 300% what an American pays, and thats assuming you pay enough for a place to park it.  Singapore takes care of its citizens but not the way your professor seems to have described. http://www.economist.com/node/15524092.

I see. Well, thanks for the informative post.

Yay Australia is Number 2 on the list!! I agree! =)

You are the answer to every prayer I've offered.

You are a song, a dream, a whisper, and I don't know how I could have lived without you for as long as I have.

I do like it there and might move there for a few years.  But it's not where you start out, but how you end up.  Thats why I play games, and happily let my kids play games.  Gamers should be some of the most successful people in life right? Where else do you find a group of people that will try tiredlessly to beat a game, over and over, getting better and better and have a smile when presented with a boss?

Play life like a game, and we will pwn it too.

Well some of these countries don't make since like Israel. At least the United States is up there.
