Forums - Gaming Discussion - Lumia 920 or Iphone 5 for gaming?

iPhone > Android > Windows Phone

If you're talking gaming. iOS has the best developer support and the most games (ie: Square-Enix).

yup iphone for the sheer number of games. Android is nice because controller support is fairly straight forward. Windows Phone only if you really care about your gamerscore. Again this is only in terms of games.

with iPhone you get tons of games, but with lumia 920 you get greater integration with your xbox and achievements in your games. it's your call as lumia 920 has some games, but not too many yet, while iPhone just has more to choose from

Get the iPhone, I don't even know why someone would recommend Windows Phone for gaming.

Uhh.... iPhone 5 without a doubt.

iPhone = Great gaming device. Don't agree? Who cares, because you're wrong.

IOS is the way to go for gaming.

Mohasanie, it seems a bit silly to go and get an iPhone 5 as an alternative to a galaxy s2 simply because of gaming. Most games (and by most i mean just about all) are made with android and ios in mind. This goes for most apps in general actually. The only difference i noticed is that ios apps are sometimes paid whereas android apps are usually free. This will become true for windows phones as well as soon as it picks up (if it does).

There are a handful of quality exclusives for ios devices...a HANDFUL!

You really should be looking at what phone do you like more. As a fellow owner of a GS2 i would say wait a while longer for a significant upgrade. And if you absolutely don't want to wait rather look at all the features of the phone and then compare it. Buying a phone based solely on gaming seems really silly.

Mobile games are sub par in general. The reason you not happy with your S2 gaming library is not because you only have access to a shitty library but rather because there is only a shitty library. Moving to windows mobile OS will make this situation WORSE. Moving to ios will just about keep it the same.

I hope i actually helped with your question. Other people in here just seem to blurting out their preferred platform,.

I own a Lumia 920 as of last week and have had Windows Phones as my main devices for 2 years now (as well as iphone and a few android devices on the side).

If you want gaming, iPhone is the way to go as long as you don't mind slightly smaller screen.

Where I would recommend a Windows Phone over an iPhone is when it comes social network integration, mail client for work (Exchange) or a keyboard which isn't a spell correcting Nazi. Also the whole interface on Windows Phone is more beautiful than the iPhone's... And Lumia has some wonderful strengths over the iPhone, such as durability, camera and wireless charging.

However when it comes to games and variety (apps in general), iPhone wins easily.
