Ohhhhh. Well they just need to make a more reasonable price to compete with competitors in that category. Sony makes great telivisions. they are just much higher in cost than their competitors is all.

- Loosing ground in Japan (specially in the handheld department) and North America
- Console pricing
- Advertisements
- Financials
Nintendo and PC gamer
Biggest obstacle is internal decision making and current financial status
All other issues (potential late entry, lack of support, lack of proper decision making, low cost solutions, etc.) derive from those two inherent factors.
To be honest I wouldn't invest a dime on Sony...

achieving 1080p60 will be easy but the games will still look like ps3-games, just more polished, with these requirements for games. i doubt that people want that...

i didn't blame gamers, its facts that a lot of people wanna play games but not willing to spent too much on it, and sony product usually more expensive, i believe next PS won't be cheap again, so people will complain its pricey and once again will wait till it price drop then consider buy it, isn't that an obstacle too...? :p
Having a unique selling point (USP) and pioneering rather than following.
The PS1, PS2 and PS3 really didn't have anything unique about them they were all pretty generic in they mainly focused on a console + controller configuration. Microsoft has Kinect and Nintendo has their hybrid controller but what will Sony bring to the party?
Tease.
That go o'l Sony arrogance. Let's not forget they started the war with MS by announcing they were going to steal all the gamers off PC and make Microsoft irrelevant. They walked away from the video console talks and came out with the Beta first. And then with the new disk format, they refused to work with Microsoft and have a common HiDef improved format - thus another format war - and it helped the streaming industry.
Now us consumers have benefited from the current competitions between MS and Sony. We have more selections and options because they are each competing for us as a consumer.
Their current financials seem to be their biggest problem. They have loyal customers - a good name brand - and some innovative games.
I think they will come out with mid priced console that is a noticeably more powerful with the WiiU, but not more than $100 more. I could also see them trying to work with Apple or Google, but don't really think that is possible because the cultures are so different. I would think they would have an easier time adding Google TV. They want to be your Everything device.
Now if they could make a good glasses free 3D 4K TV that would work with their system. They would have something really special - for wealthy people.
