Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Wii U already hacked !!!

How could they hack this already while the 3ds is still not hacked?

Could this be nullified by a system update?

I dont think so.

They succeeded in hacking the most protected system PS3 so the Wii U wont be a problem for them, even with update ( and if they reveal them, that meant theyre prepared to any eventuality from nintendo like a systeme update) , and i dont think nintendo is prepared for this... The simple fact that they hacked the Wii U so fast is very bad, i think its the fastest hack in the history of consoles

Its a very serious threat for the Wii U, nintendo is aimed by the best team of hack, unfortunetaly for us, they wont let them in peace, like they done with Sony.

Predictions for end of 2014 HW sales:

 PS4: 17m   XB1: 10m    WiiU: 10m   Vita: 10m

I hope they hack it to make the Wii games playable on the WiiU controller. Maybe I would bother to finish Fire Emblem then.

Chances are the hackers will not release this hack if it allows piracy. Anyway Nintendo could give people a homebrew channel it probably won't get hacked wide open.

Tease.

I only know people who have pirated games on their Wii. I'm the only person I know (?) who doesn't own a single pirated game.
They even mock me (I'm talking about 30yo dudes... lol) because I only buy original games.

I wounder if fail0verflow will have much success hacking the Wii U with the day one patch already installed. Nintendo might patch any exploits that he has found.

I don't know much about hacking, but I suspect that because the Wii U was rushed for release Nintendo might have overlooked some exploits.

Nintendo can not stop Fail0verflow, the simple fact that the console is already hacked shows that theyre dont have total control on their powerful system.

If hacked:
most selling next gen console, no 3rd party support, just selling nintys standard software like crazy because there are no gaemz.

So just like current gen.

must-have-list for platforms i don't own yet:

WiiU: Donkey Kong

XBone: Dead Rising 3, Ryse

3DS was hacked:

It has been confirmed, it's legit. Before the details about the hack are revealed to the public, no, it couldn't.

As for the WiiU hack, well it certainly was fast, though might take some time before we'll get smth useful out of it (like HBC in WiiU menu). But again nothing to cry out loud, both DS and Wii were hacked after 1 year on the market (in yearly 2006 and 2008 respectively), and hardmodded Wiis were availble shortly after launch. People who suggested that WiiU wasn't as secure as other consoles, I'm not sure on what you're basing your speculations? There're little detials known to the public and time it took to hack it isn't the prime factor here.

Like Sony and MS, Nintendo might be able to keep the hackers at bay in their online network by banning hacked consoles and regularly releasing new system updates that exchanges the keys and are mandatory for playing online, but playing pirated games and such probably can't be stopped anymore as they seem to be quite far into hacking the WiiU already and even if failoverflow decides to not officially release how they did it, chances are it will be leaked soon anyway.

True. However, I believe that Nintendo will make sure that a hacked Wii U wont be able to use Miiverse.
