^.^ Yup. Majority of people overlook that critical aspect. That is why Nintendo stated boldly, "we loose a little bit per console sales," but, "we earn profit for every game that sells."

What "extra features" do they expect the PS4/Nextbox to have? WiiU currently is rife with features that didn't exist in a gaming platform prior to the 8th gen, so I'm having trouble seeing what extra features PS4 or Nextbox could have that it doesn't.

Well Microsoft has it so you can talk to your console with Kinect? rofl

So what we learn from this article is basically that a console that isn't a generational leap from the previous gen can't be sucessful because THIS time, consumers want that leap in power.

Wii was unique, revolutionary really. Neither of these terms would be applicable to the Wii U. Sales will correlate with this assertion.

They are in denial, and dont have the intelligence to predict whats obvious in front of them. They conclude the future is the same as the present because present social stigmas make him think so.

Theres obviously not gonna be a new nintendo console in 2014 unless its a revision.

srry, i don't look at functionality. i look at games, and if ninty can create innovative games then that's wht will drive the system. ninty still has the numbers for thier main franchises to steady wiiu sales, so i'm betting on ninty, and not this speculation.

i'll admit Wiiu will not be as strong/big as Wii was, but WiiU will not sruggle. WiiU will be the SNES to NES, but ninty won't win the 8th gen. and if they do. it won't be by the current 20m units.

Functionality is what allowed the Wii to gather so much core and casual support. The games were secondary to the innovation. This time around, Nintendo built more of a core-gamer console, which will not draw casuals. (Do casuals even know about the Wii U?)

Well, Nintendo is a very smart company. The Wii U will be profitable and thus successful, but in comparison to sales of this generation and next generation, it will fall flat. With the next release of a console, either by MS or Sony, the Wii U sales will be abysmal. Only the hardcore Nintendo fans will buy it.

I'd be interested to see how many people that did not own a Wii purchased a Wii U.

this is bad press aiming to the "ignorant customers" the only goal of such a lot of crap is to slow the pace of WiiU in get a lot of advantage (huge install base) over nextbox or ps4 all this crap is orchestrated by sony or ms.
