How is it still going over there? I would have thought they would have been all over the Vita by now.

PS3 selling over 70m ww, 360 having more 10m sellers then PS2, WiiU out selling PS3 in JP, and now PSP out selling PS1 in JP.

records continue to be broken here in the last official months of the 7th gen. with more to come?

yeah they're still releasing games for it seemingly more than Vita over there which I just don't get.  Seems like Sony supports previous gen consoles almost too much.  I hope they only have a couple big games for PS3 once 4 comes out so A)they can sell more giving their devs a bigger install base to make money on and get rewarded for games they make and B) give me something to play since I'll be getting it the Christmas it comes out.

How's that even considered a record, not to mention broken...

If I'm not wrong PSP needs 2 million units in Japan to outsell PlayStation... I think that will not happen.

PS1 lifetime Japan sales: 21.59 million shipped
PSP today Japan sales: 19.35 million sold

PSP = dying, Vita = dead.

It sells more than Vita in Japan at the moment. I hope Sony can keep the Vita alife for a bit more, if it has enough games it should sell at sustainable levels. But at the moment Vita is nearly dead in Japan.
