My primary is computer.

Whatever Gets Final Fantasy and Metal Gear. If PC ever gets either of those games again. (PC's gotten FF7,8,11,14) and MGS 1,2 Then none.

But if All 3 consoles get them.
I'd probably go Nintendo->Microsoft-> Sony.

Because of other first party games I like. I own all 3 this gen, but rarely play 2 of them, so I can miss out on a couple games, at the benefit of not having to buy 3 consoles.

Already got my Wii U and it connects to a tablet(controller) and is the only box you need under your TV (TVii), so I guess those are factors? hahaha.

Actually for me it's games, then price. Then things like what my friends have. The multimedia aspect is a nice bonus. In fact, I have been very surprised at how much I like the WiiU for media. Having people over with music playing on surround sound and just needing the cool looking and mobile black tablet to pick another YouTube song is awesome. By far the best interface I've seen yet for a console. By far.

But I bought the system because I was ready for something fresh, I like Nintendo software and the price was reasonable. The question for me now is will I buy another system too. If multiplat support remains strong for WiiU I might not. It's such a nice system to use. If I find myself wanting more software that is on a different console I will consider them if the price is reasonable. Multimedia will play a small role, especially with how good the WiiU is in that regard.

Games.

I LOVE ICELAND!

Games

I only buy one system per Gen and just play the others at friends houses.

I had the N64, GC, and Wii so obviously I like Nintendo's games most. Wii U has been a disappointment so far. I only buy Systems for games and so far only Nintendo Land is a must-buy for me. I am waiting until more games release for me to even consider the Wii U. Pikmin 3 will be the 2nd must-buy if it comes out when its supposed too!

Next year at Xmas the next generation in home consoles truly kicks off with the relase of one if not 2 of the power competitors of console market.

With tecnology taking the route it as over te last few years Theres every possibility next generation will be more about the multimedia experience as a whole and less about just what games it has.

Would its multimedia capabilities and communication with other devices like phones and tablets be something to influence your buy? If a home console could act as the only box you need under your TV where you could literally view anything from your current cable or satelite provider through it to linking your tablet as well, would that be part of the deciding factor over another console without those features?

Tell us. Have a vote. Or would you be happy having just a game console next to your cable box and Bluray player or whatever you have their already?

depends on what multi-media means.

if you mean whats in bold - then no.  massively no.  i don't have cable, i don't want cable, and even if i did want cable getting the same experience as what the current cable box has (minus a second set of hardware) in not motivating in the least.  but if there are cool new features that cable doesn't currently support (subscribe only to certain channels/shows,  on demand brocasting, ability to view my subscribed services from any ps4/xbox8 i sign into so i can still catch my shows when i'm at a friends house) then i might actually care about cable again and thus these multimedia services.

doubt i would care about linking to my phone in any substantial way.  i can't see a good use case for linking to my photos/music/games/maps.  maybe i'd care about face-to-face phone calls but my iphone already does that anyways and i already don't use that.

so in short, i'll probably view any multimedia features as a great value adds and probably love the ones i get.  netflix has been amazing for me.  but as far a purchase decisions... i doubt it would make me get one console over another.  i'll go where the games i want to play are as honestly, that's why i'm buying a games console.

It'll come down to two factors: free online and games.
But since Halo 5 will be coming out, its gonna be Xbox for me!

simply the fact that Microsoft charges for online and sony doesnt.
aswell as far more exclusives on sonys side which are high quality.

I don't care about multimedia in my games consoles, i buy games consoles to play games. But in the end, i will probably get them all
