Final Fantasy XIII sales are so high only because it's the first HD FF game, it was hugely hyped and sales quickly dropped off when everyone found out how horrible it was. Now FFXIII-2 releases and it's technically a better game but still sells much worst then the first. Seeing this pattern sales are only going to get lower and lower Final Fantasy XIII-3 will be lucky to sell over 2 million across both the X360 and PS3. 

They need to move on and try something different, something that has hope that so much people was hyped about like Final Fantasy Versus XIII or even a new Star Ocean game. They keep digging their hole deeper and deeper, why!?

I liked both Final Fantasy XIII and XIII-2, and I'm looking forward to the third game...

No, and I'm still fighting to start my copy of used FF13-2 that I got for 20 bucks after tax at gamestop, but I'm prolly going to try to play some today which might not last too long since it's double XP weekend in Planetside 2.

SE made a statement recently about FFXIII defeating FF7 in sells. Thats what XIII-2 and 3 are about. SE is annoyed FFXIII that ff13 and lighting did not become the phenomenon thats FF7/cloud and there gonna keep shoving them down our throat intill the are satisfied weve had enough. They really wanted 13 to be ff7

Dont know and dont care how many they make or plan to do with the sub series.

I'm planning to play FFXIII-2 once I finish FFVII Crisis Core, I'll get Lightning Returns once it becomes $20 like I bought FFXIII-2 for during the summer.

First, no game is ever actually needed, and second, keep in mind that your "horrible" is subjective. A lot of people liked XIII. I did, even though I don't think it was fantastic or a classic. Also, has any spin-off come close to the numbers of the original? I think it's just fine for people who like the story. Nothing wrong with three installments.

ive heard about this, and its really confusing. Do you have a link cause i would love to know what SE is on, FF7 had sold almost ten mil on PS1 ALONE, not even counting PC numbers or PSN DLs. FF13 ps360 combined dont even reach those numbers...unless they are talking about the FF13and31-2, if that is the case then SE is more sad and pathetic than i thought. using two games across two systems to make it look better than ONE game released on ONE system years ago is sad. Hell by that logic why not add Dirge of Cerebus, Crisis Core sales for FF7, dont stop there how much Bluray/DVD copies of Advent Children were sold?

OT it sure isnt needed, but if you enjoyed those games then more power to you, ill save myself the 60 bucks as i never bought the 2nd and i cant even bring myself to finish the original despite just needing to beat the final boss
