What was shown at the VGAs was a mixture of both gameplay and pre-rendered, just thought i throw that out there.

And what evidence do you have for that? It isn't something that Naughty Dog have done in the past and we have seen how good actual gameplay looks!

I can't remember what ND do precisely with their cut scenes, but it is not pre-rendered, I think they just have better character models

Most of Naughty Dog's cut scenes are pre-rendered using the game's engine. This allows them to push more effects, more polygons, better anti-aliasing, etc... while keeping a consistent look througout the entire game (unlike games like Final Fantasy). It also allows the console to load the next level while the pre-rendered cut-scene is playing. Making it seem like there's barely any loading at all.

Many developers do that.

We could do with more knowledgeable people on this site.

But Halo 4.

Yeah, I love how xbots respond to such threads.

On a more serious note, I do expect Naughty Dog to dethrone Gow 3 and KZ3... this time.

It goes both ways: http://gamrconnect.vgchartz.com/post.php?id=4010381

Is it running in 1080p ? how many FPS ?

I thought this was common knowledge, actually.

There are games that don't use pre-rendered cut-scenes, and still look very good, like Heavy Rain. But usually, those games tend to have slow downs and graphical hicups during those scenes. I am hoping some time in the future, games will be entirely real-time and look like the Uncharted series cut-scenes at all time.

I prefer real-time over pre-rendered. No matter how incredible the pre-rendered cut-scene look.

it should be one of the best looking games this gen. i cant waite to get this game

Truth is, games like The Last of Us, Uncharted 3, Beyond, God of War Ascenssion, Forza 4, GT5, Halo 4, all play in the same ballpark, technically.

They're all extremely great looking console games that showcase the mastery of their developers to harness the limited ressources of  6+ years old hardware.
I think it's incredible how those 2 consoles can provide such high fidelity visuals even compared to PC games this late in the gen.

Yeah, the PC still has a discernable edge, but I could settle for visuals like those found in the games I mentioned for the couple next years if every games looked this great.

Its definitely impressive, but Crysis 3 may be there too

If you wanna compare consoles with the PC, compare then with PCs from the year the consoles launched. Its only fair that way. I doubt any 2005/6 PC that costed 400$ can outperform 360 in graphics.

No, and none of the games you included in the poll either...
