Forums - Nintendo Discussion - GamePad costs $85 to repair. Retail price starting at $99?

if repairs cost $85 i think if they would sell it, it'll be around $120!!!.... maybe

Around the Network
If a second pad makes my 60FPS game into a 30FPS game then I don't fucking want it.

So the Wii U is really a $150 console. This explains a great deal.

I thought that's pretty common knowledge by now :P Thought my estimate is closer to 200.

well if they are selling the system for a loss, the console still mucst cost quite a bit to make.

So...

WiiU (deluxe) console ~ $175 cost of materials.
Gamepad ~ $85 cost of materials.

Full package ~$260 of materials.

Once you include cords/stands, shipping, packaging, and retail partner profit... I can see how Nintendo said it requires one game sale to make Nintendo a profit.

Very informative.

Wii Motion Plus controller + Nunchuk costs $60
Get rechargeable battery + charging dock for another few $20 bucks or so (supporting 2-4 Wii Motion Plus's)

PS-Move Controller + PS-Navigation Controller costs $60-70 I think

XBox Kinect costs $100+
...

So the game pad at $100 would not be too bad.

I think you're being generous with the cost of Move.  The Controller is $50, and the Navigation Controller is another $30 = $80.

That's the original retail price but they're generally cheaper at most places. Not hard to find both for ~$50 or less.
