Yep, the second update is smaller and only 625MB, hwoever for me it took like 4hours or so. The first updated however took me one hour,

So not sure what went on there, not even sure if AUS has local servers for updates. BUt Nintendo does need to fix these issues, especially when Christmas is just around the corner.

I'm finally done updating. Going to sleep now. My ID is Chrizum, add me if you must.

How awesome is the Wii U browser? It's running a youtube video on my TV right now while I'm posting on VGChartz with the game pad!

Well we're 45 minutes further and the progress bar has gone up a bit. But it's still as low as ~15% now even after 2 hours of downloading. My download speed is usually around 2MB/s so it can't be that. Nintendo has a problem with the network, there's just no denying for me.

just for a frame of reference, it took me 50 minutes on a 30Mbps line.

Nice D21

I just got one today. I'm setting it up in an hour or so, I wonder how long it will take.
Tuesday night it took over 3 hours to download the 2.4gb Ni No Kuni demo. So out of my 10mbps line I only got about 1.8mbps worth :/

I see the first update is 1gb, 2nd one 625mb, long night ahead?
Theoretically that would be 14 and 8 minutes on a 10mbps line...

Updating took a little over an hour, then download the You Tube app, update Nintendoland, update Mario, welcome to the HD generation ugh. The 2nd update has not turned up yet. It says there is one in the message center but when I check for an update it says up to date, so confused...

Is there a way to get your Miis from the Wii to the WiiU without wiping the Wii in the process? System transfer should do it but that wipes the Wii according to the instructions. Transferring via Wii remote doesn't seem supported as the import feature is missing from the WiiU's Wii menu.

If it's the very first update, let it run. If it's the second, it will run in the background in the download manager and you can do whatever you want, play, browse, ... it will just download and tell you to install when it's done and you get back to the menu for the first time.

Hope the update is done and that everything worked out for you
