Well this thread proves that people only post their own canned opinion on Vita and don't read the thread first.

The article isn't very good, but it's an excuse to discuss the topic.

It ISN'T AN ARTICLE.

Article is such a loose term though. Any subjegated text with a reasonable amount of content to support a concept and debate. Not professional mind you, but the term article is ot exlclusive to proper lines.

Before the PS3 everyone was nice to me :(

The PSV doom & gloom talk will stop when the damn thing actually starts moving units at a decent rate. And a price drop does not guarantee that.

You know I was always wondering why no one ever used the dollar sign for $ony, but then I realized they have no money so it would be pointless.

My take.

Vita's current business model will not succeed. A price cut, even to as low as $179 will still only see a minor increase in sales. Vita needs major hardware, software, and networking changes, or it will never get beyond hardcore, handheld gamer's.

Hardware?  Why?  The hardware is pretty awesome.

If the Vita gets a price cut, all the trolls will come dashing out from under their bridges screeching, "OMG OMG SONY M@KiNG 1 LAST DESPERIT MOVE 2 TRY 2 SAVE CR@PY VITA!!!1 DIS PROVES IT DED!!! NOT LONG BEFORE DISCONTINU!"

It wouldn't change a damn thing.

Erm, also, what software features does the Vita have that the 3DS doesn't? They both support Digital/physical games, videos, music, Netflix, etc. right? Or is this article specifically referring to hardware features.

I can't say much for 3DS but Vita has Music Unlimited, Near, Treasure Park, Welcome Park, Paint Park, Colors!, music player, video player, camera/camcorder, YouTube, Facebook, Twitter, Skype, Flickr, foursquare, Netflix, niconico, Google Maps, and Email. Vita also has PlayStation Mobile, which will become Sony's version of the Android and iOS app stores once it picks up some pace. Aside from that there is the already well developed PSN, the Vita's more capable and customizable OS user interface with a built in message board for every icon, and a much better web browser.

Is this a license to continue with the Doom & Gloom until a price drop takes effect? You heard the man, everyone: carry on with your Dooming and Glooming!

3DS has Music Player/ Video player / facebook (via browser) / twitter (via browswer) / netflix and email (via browser)

of the things you listed which the 3ds of course doesn't have because they are branded Aps the 3ds has Street pass quest, Street pass puzzles, Colors 3d, video recording and Stop motion camera with onion skin overlay of previous frame and the Nintendo eshop which will become Nintendos Version of sonys version of the android and ios app store.
