Me and my friends still play high-level smash bros. 64 games with each other. It's actually the most played system when we get together. With that said, a permanent joystick fix would be AWESOME! That's the only thing I hate about N64 gaming.

This is a combo video with footage solely of my crew playing. I'm Ethiopian-Mobsta from the credits. My best/funniest contribution is when I Chris (sextc) owns my Fox at the 2:42 minute mark using pikachu's up-B at the ledge. Haha.

Dude, you are too late. Emulators have been out for ages.

I'm afraid I'll have to agree with this. The easiest way is to get an emulator and connect your Xbox 360 controller. If you download a certain plugin (or newer emulators) you can even use your mouse for FPS games.

I wish you luck nontheless :) If I could I definitely would fix my old controllers' sticks, because the system itself is still perfectly functional.

Yeah but I'm not trying to reach the emulator kids. I want to reach the real retro gamers. snap snap

It's less about jamming glue and tape in there to fill the empty spaces, and more about manufacturing new parts. There's 3 key pieces in there that like to wear out. They can pretty easily be taken out and replaced if the parts were readily available. My goal is to make those parts available.

Well its shouldn't be too expensive to get those parts manufactured... they are small plastics right? shouldn't be more the 2.50 ~ 5 bucks a piece..  build some protoypes then send it to china and they'll make a few thousand for even a better price... then build a cheap website where people can order them..

If it costs $5 a piece, I'm going to scrap this whole idea. That's 3 pieces plus some packaging. Not to mention my time and money for putting this all together. I'd be in $20 a unit. No ones going to fix their controller for $60 each.

.. that would be just the first ones.. once you get the right protoype build send it to china and they'll make it for a few cents a piece..
then spend money on a good graphic designer who will make a fine instruction manual and just sell the parts and instruction manual from your site.. no need to make those adjustments yourself..

A few cents would be fantastic! I'm trying to get a few quotes from people right now, but no one wants to give me a quote until I've given them a 3D model file. And I can't do that until I find a factory sealed controller to work from. Right now I'm exploring the idea of making an instructional video on how to do it, and making sure its posted on the product page. And Youtube. And have a link to it on the package just to make sure people see it.

Just replica mold the pieces from a perfect controller. Done.

I'd buy it

I LOVE ICELAND!

http://www.twitch.tv/siglemic

This guy could use some of that (the SM64 120-star and 70-star world record holder). He goes through like a controller a week.

I've seen people replace the n64 stick with PSX dualshock sticks and Gamecube sticks too... but I would love to have a permanent solution that doesn't involve ripping apart a bunch of controlllers and putting together and programming a PCB.
