This is pretty much the best Mario since Super Mario World. They took a page from SMW and implemented it well in this game. This one has that old school Mario feeling unlike the similar Wii version (NSMB).

Anyone else think NSMBU will have a MASSIVE attach rate?  Everyone I know got the game with their Wii U (online and real life).  The community on Miiverse is on par with NintendoLand which is bundled.  As well as the promotion at Old navy on Black Friday.  I feel as if this game is going to do extremely well.

Hmmmm, I'll probably skip this one then. Mario World is sort of my cutoff border, if it is not better than Mario World, it is not worth my time, let alone my money.

I describe myself as a little dose of toxic masculinity.

I am on World 3 and so far there is some clever level design and it looks and plays great, but I hope that there is some more challenge in the later worlds.

Ah, the one game that currently makes me jealous to not own a Wii U.. Since Mario 3 and World are my favorite Mario games, the fact that this game blends both together makes me want this game even more.

Anyway, where I think the Mario series will go from here.. From the hunble opinion of a Nintendo fan and Mario gamer for 22+ years, the Mario series is at a crossroads. Nintendo REALLY needs to innovate for the next 2D Mario game, or they risk turning the series in the new Tony Hawk/Guitar Hero/Call of Duty in that it becomes incremental upgrades with little change, and people will lose interest. While NSMB U looks like a solid game and an improvement on NSMB Wii, I still don't see too much inovation and an expansion of the Mario universe. Part of the appeal of Mario 3 and World was the "newness" and innovation of the atmosphere. While the core gameplay remained the same, the environments were vastly different. I don't really see this in NSMB. Nintendo needs to create some drastically new worlds, powerups, even characters, in order to keep the series fresh and keep people buying.

Looking at the game with screenshots, it looked almost indistinguishable from the Wii and 3DS games. Actually playing it, it was a different story. Even watching a review (I think it was IGN) didn't prepare me for seeing the game up and running on my TV or the Wii U Pad.

The world map, the baby Yoshis, the motion controls (took me several levels to realize they were in the U Pad as well!), the creativity--I could go on and on. Anyway, I was one of those guys that really enjoyed NSMB2 on the 3DS. Playing this game really shows that the "A Team" worked on this title. It's everything I wanted the 3DS title to be.

I agree. We could definitely see NSMB DS like numbers.

This game looks great and is on my must buy games when I buy the Wii U. I'm kinda disappointed to read there's no much challenge in it but oh well. The only other thing I didn't like is the music, in some videos I've seen the music is exactly the same as NSMB Wii -_-

They should've implemented the gamepad better.
