Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Is the Wii U really sold out?

Have you seen a lot of Wii U consoles sitting on shelves?

Yes 94 23.21%

No 232 57.28%

I don't care about the Wii U 79 19.51%

Total:405

My local wal-mart just put a bunch in their case, there were atleast 10 Wii U's half black , half white, they were not allowed to sell them when I asked (they were stocked for Black Friday (Thursday??) and didn't have any price tags on them like everything else over there, so YMMV depending, but the employee in that department was quite adamant they had just gotten them and were prepping for the masses

Not sold out on ebay for sure, there's thousands of them with no bids.

I had a quick look at ebay and maybe half of them had at least 1 bid, some have a lot of bids, one was almost 100.

It's pretty simple. All WiiUs are bidded upon until they reach the standard shop prices. All "Buy it now" offers for >$400 have zero bids. People obviously have a brain here.

Brain or no, lets look at ebay after Black Friday occurs and see whats there

I haven't seen any but I kind-of would expect that ...

Nintendo (probably) had a decent sized shipment for North America for launch day, and may have followed that up with a second shipment on Tuesday/Wednesday heavily targeting the United States for Thanksgiving/Black-Friday.

While I wouldn't expect this many systems to have been shipped, Nintendo could have shipped 1,000,000 to 1,500,000 units if they anticipated 300,000 to 500,000 sales for launch and 700,000 to 1,200,000 sales on Black Friday; both numbers are massive but not that unusual for launch and/or Black Friday.

Well It's still a bit early to tell what's going on because we have weeks left of the holiday shopping season, but going by curent eBay prices most are only selling $40ish more then MSRP with free shipping so the fippers aren't make much if anything.

But if you want to go by right now? No It's not sold out, and looks like Nintendo will be able to keep stock on the shelves the next coming week at least.

It's just that simple.

Reggie "I'll pay someone 1200 dollars to find a Wii U in stock"

So is that per Wii U? Cause if so he owes me a lot of money.
