Congrats to Sony for selling 70m with the most expensive console and coming out a year late. From haters claiming it to be 2nd Dreamcast to a success story. No one expected this 5 years ago and I'm sure it will stop selling around 100m.

my friend turkish these numbers are as of 4th of november, xbox as of end of september. so xbox most probably shipped more units in this month. but seeing how things are going its just a matter of time until ps3 takes over 360. i predict by end of september 2013

Yep my bad, still PS3 achieved 70m a month after 360 did, they are pretty close now. September 2013 seems a bit late don't you think? With how fast ps3 catched up this year compared to last.

The shipment gap by end of September 2011 was 2.17m.  So they have reduced that by less than 1m. The gap will grow again this quarter. They are catching up very very slowly. 


They are caught up. Took them 6 to do what xbox did in 7. 


Cool logic. They caught up because they are behind. 

What? Hesapooka logic is 100% correct. It took Sony 6 years to reach 70 million, whereas it took xbox 7 years to reach 70 million. Sounds right to me? You can spout nonsense about the beloved 360 day and night but, it doesn't take away from the fact that Sony reaching 70 million in 6 years after the worst console launch in gaming history is an amazing achievement. It just proves that Playstation is still synonymous with the gaming industry, albeit not as big as it once was.  

Also, 15 million playstation moves is actually impressive considering the universal hate it gets on the internet.

common sense ist not required.

Gap is probably 2 million again.
PS Move userbase is 50% of the Kinect userbase max.



Imagine not having GamePass on your console...

This is PS3 shipments for into November. The 360 will be at 72m or so by now, if not more.  


2m since end of september? Yeah whatever. Fact is the consoles will shift place much sooner than you think. What was your prediction again, when Nextbox was going into pre-orders?

Yep and yep.  The 360 will ships millions this quarter and will have sold well over 2 million in October and November. 

use a bit of common sense Turkish. 

You are just presuming this though, until we get some actual numbers they are both at 70m, although the 360 is most likely slightly ahead, we don't know how ahead they actually are, that 2m figure is nothing more then a guess.

No.  He made two different statements. What he said was "they have caught up".  Are you saying they have caught up?  Caught up meaning they have shipped the same. 

Well right now they have until Microsoft reveal their current shipment numbers. Until then, yes they certainly have. Obviously, christmas will be a big decider. 

EDIT: Last month microsoft said they have eclipsed 70 million shipped so they are not the same.

so after all these years, after all these threads full of hopeful posts, wishful thinking, arguing, insulting, moaning and praying, the ps3 could perhaps surpass the 360? thank god if this is achieved... will keep many shoutmouths calm until next gen ;)

getting banned for telling the truth or my opinion? that'd be rediculous because i didn't attack anyone personally, so... but anyhow, congrats sony. they need success at these hard times.
