Most movies that are based on novels fail to live up to the novel.  I'm guessing that over 95% of movies based on novels are nowhere near as good as the source material. 

Nice no spoilers I still think that the movie will be a mild bomb at the box office unless it really takes of in a few overseas markets.  But I don't think it will bomb as hard as Speed Racer.

No. It wasn't a good movie. That movie has perhaps the worst costumes I have ever seen. Tom Hanks looked so stupid dressed up as half the characters he prtrayed. Several of the storylines were incredibly stupid such as the Asian future and the Tom Hanks future past. If that still doesn't deter you from seeing it, perhaps I should quote one of Tom Hank's characters(the one from the future past). "You tell me half-true. Tell me true true." WTF and he talks like that most of the time in that story. Also, the people being food...predictable and stolen from a better movie. Best thing to come from that movie was the soundtrack.

Soylent Green isn't that good of a movie it aged very poorly.   The original Planet of the Apes is a better movie and it also aged better its a lot more watchable then Soylent Green.

I ignore him for the most part but I seen Soylent Green a couple of times and its really not that good of a movie I give it a 6/10.

Now adays an imdb rating for new movies means nothing. People give every new movie that's somewhat entertaining a 10 these days. Hence the reason it has an 8.2, but it's not on the top 250. The site has Sherlock holmes 2 sitting around a 8 for the first month. 


P.S This movie looks great. I was just wanting to point out how imdb rating alone for a new movie isn't reason enough to see it. 

The movie was kinda ok before it started to resemble a political correctness manifesto in very straightforward and stupid way. Hate this stupid shit. I'd probably be ok with it if this kind of ideology wasn't be imposed on me so often from TV, other movies, media etc. I like racist jokes or when people beat up fags for no reason, and more movies like Don't Be a Menace to South Central or Borat.

So, yeah, go see the movie if want to be brainwashed for thousand time. I had it enought already, the movie was just annoying, and there's no reedeming value in it.

LOL, ok, maybe a lied a bit about more movies like Borat. It was "too much" for me in some places (the follow up Bruno is "too much" practically in all places), very vulgar in general, and I don't like that. But it was worth watching once and was somewhat revealing (don't get why Kazakhs got offended? Americans should have been offended!). And this... Cloud Atlas thing... turd covered in pretty sugarish wrap. Meh. After all I'm not a biorobot and normally oriented (aka heterosexual), so it must be because of it :D
