I agree with the OP. I'm a few hours in and it's already very impressive. Best graphics, best AI, best sounds, best music, best everything.

So halo 4 lives up to the hype

Just got it. Want to play it but I'm afraid that if I don't watch the election results, my guy is going to lose! I'll try to get at least one Achievement before midnight, though.

Anyway, even though there have been more Halo games and they have sold more, I always felt like Gears of War was THE franchise on Xbox 360. From the reviews I've watched (I got weak, okay!) it seems that Master Chief is going to run the show once again. In a way, it just feels right.

It's over.  Obama won!

Got 20 minutes into it.
My sons took over. I don't like playing co-op.
Simply amazing. Got the chills. My kids are screaming as they play now.
Awesome.

Glad you guys love it. I was wondering if it plays at all like Metroid Prime. I haven't seen much gameplay footage apart from the E3 trailer, but Halo 4 looked a bit like the Metroid Prime series from what I've seen. Any truth to that? Or is it just superficial?

I don't think it plays like Metroid Prime at all. It plays just like Halo, but with new weapons, enemies and a little faster thanks to the sprint always being there for you.

The only part that resembles Metroid Prime is a few aesthetic choices like glowing metallic insect like enemies. But that's very superficial and really it's been part of the Halo art design since the beginning and looks as much Forrunner as it does Metroid Prime.

BTW, I'm a huge fan of both Halo and Metroid Prime. If that matters to you.

Thanks for answering Kain. I'm really glad everyone seems to love it. Hopefully I can play it sooner rather than later.

I fired it up last night for about an hour and the game just exuded Game of the Year quality from the moment I hit start. Atmostphere, graphics (Wow.), the tightness of the controls, music, the sound of the guns--I knew I was in for one hell of a ride.

For some reason, though, the game kept saying that it was having some sort of problem updating my profile. I don't know what was going on, there. It can't remember the wording but it implied that I didn't have enough space on my memory unit. I tend to use a 4GB Flash Drive to move my data from room to room but I guess that's not an option with this game. Plus, it logged me out of Xbox Live. Guess I'll start the whole game over today.

I'm considering it. But I played the demo of Halo Reach and I didn't like, the graphic was weak and the gameplay was average.

We need moar Zelda, now!

We need moar Unchartedzz!

We need less DLCs.

Well Halo 4 is, without any doubt, the best looking FPS of this gen. But if you don't like halo gameplay then you don't like halo gameplay.

Yes. LOL.

Reach is certainly not Halo 4. Its visuals are really something. Stunning lighting. Unmatched by any game. Well not PC of course.
