People already got PS3's in China. Again the same reason like I said in many 'if console X release in China or INdia it will be huge' Why buy a PS3 that maybe comes with one game if they can spent the half of that price for an abonnement at a lan bar where they can play the best new games for a year?

You're forgetting the fact that average salaries don't mean shit in a country as big as China. Their middle and rich class literally consist of hundreds of millions of people. Sony is targetting the elite, not the average Chang. PS3 may well become a success when rich parents buy this premium product for their children.

Plus $800 per month on average is more than in many European countries. And like Turkish said, they don't plan to sell a billion consoles there. Just a couple of millions. I think this can be big, but it would turn extremely huge if they were to remain exclusive for the next gen! Or even just the first 3-4 years of that gen.
