There might have been a thread already about this a week back but i think this new video warrants a new thread! Looks great. I love how they are laying with perception. Scary stuff. Definately the future of game and entertainment. I guess the big difference between this version and the previous one is that this is specifically designed with virtual reality in mind whereas the previous one was not.

Thoughts?

Vid is in 3rd and 4th post! Or is it?!

Wow that is great! Hopefully for the PS4 they add in position data too since the content is being rendered. At the end of the video he started moving around his head and even stood up a bit to break the illusion. Honestly if PS4 uses this with motion tracking it would be near impossible to know what's real and what isn't.

Yeah thats awesome.. using augemented reality and then have a REAL woman high fiving you... that dude should have gone insane at that moment...

the main screen is what you see through the glasses while the lower right corner shows what's really happening in the room..

I'm not so sure what I was looking at, all I saw was the Resident Evil movie, some woman, and another woman with a violin.

What exactly is this...new TV resolution? Better than HD o.O?

I was also a bit confused at the beginning. But il try and explain as best i can.

The screen you are seing (the big one) is what the guy sitting in the chair is seeing minus the border of the tv etc. So basically he is getting a fully immersed view of the video.

After the trailer things get more interesting. The guy is then shown a video of a japanese lady in front of him, notice how he can move hes head and change the camera view at will! So yeah this is great in its own right...but then after that the actual lady walks into the room, they then switch from the head mount view to real life view...the guy seems a bit confused until he actually touches the ladys hand and realises "OH SNAP this is real" XD they then seamlessly switch back to the video..at this point i would think the guy is unsure of what he is watching is real or a video ! Amazing!

Think of the anime Sword Art Online XD

Realistically though i dont think this is anywhere close to being in the hands of consumers and conveying the same experience. However its a marked improvement on the previous head mount display (granted it had a different focus) and it also shows where we will eventually get to with virtual reality and playing with perceptions.

Hope that helped :)

Did they make glassless 3D yet? Or did they abandon 3D?
