As it stands the Wii is 495,873 ahead

Last week 360 outsold Wii by 8,223 so at this rate it would take it 60 weeks to catch it up. So what do you think? Can it do it or will the Wii hold on?

I think the 360 will do it.

It'll do it inside a year. 360 is going to sell big in the holidays and Wii is going to sell almost nothing.

Now this one is definitely more doable. With only 60 weeks, there should only be a minimal affect from the new consoles near the end of that time frame. Anything Nintendo does will only slow the gap, which will probably be negated after the holiday season.

360 sales could hurt too from the WiiU release, and the Wii might get a price drop. (doubt it)
It seems likely that the 360 will overtake the Wii right before the end of 2012.

I would hope the Wii would win U.K. but it looks like it will be 360. Nintendo needs to do more in U.K. region to counter the Microsoft movement. Best case scenario is that a Wii U fever breaks out in the U.K. which probably wouldn't be enough to stunt 360 sales. However, I don't think the 360 will pass the Wii in North America. That would probably have been a better thread considering it is more up to chance and further behind.

Yeah I had to quote you when that happens =p...If you remember...   Glad you are not bailing out.

And we already had threads about Xbox 360 outselling the Wii in USA. (not sure that we have thread about NA though).

Yea I suppose you are right.  We probably did have a few of those threads (Wii vs 360 N.A.) in the past.  I'm still pretty optimistic about a $100 Wii in USA/Canada.  While sales will fall off a lot after this holiday season the Wii will still do decently this season.  You can hold me to that quote because I have over a 90% feeling that 360 can't overtake the Wii in N.A.  360 would have to be on the market in 2014/15 to pass the Wii in N.A. considering the Wii has ~4m lead right now.
