Hey there! Some of you might have seen me around the forum here, but none of you really know me. Well, I'm about to change all that! I'll post 2 videos with me in them, and my job portfolio for you all to watch!

What's all this then, you might ask yourself? I'm trying to get accepted to a course for copy writers (those fancy people from the Mad Men-series making advertisement) here in Stockholm. I already have a copy writer course on my CV, but after several attempts to make it in the business I'm still a none-working copy writer (well, I do have a job - just not one I like very much!).

So, I present to you my portfolio that's gotten me nowhere - and I'd like for you all to comment it! Isn't it any good? Is that why I'm not making Video game ads?! Is all of my ideas bad? The 2 videos I've made are part of my job application process from 2 years ago.

haha well I had to go an online course to make that one! ;) I'd hope to bring a little more than second grade origami skillz to my future job :P

Hmmm... I'm in advertising and marketing leading several projects each day, and we are like the devil... I nitpick about the smallest details very hard and direct.. (that also made me a part-time teacher in the field at age 25) so don't take it personal but take it as advice:

the idea for the videos are ok/good but the quality is bad.. I know you are a copywriter but we in the business are highly visual trained.. so get the same lightning for the video, a bit better quality camera, and get a better mic for the voice over.. she sound hollow and the difference in quality is noticable.. trim the first one to 1:30.. there are some bits which are taking too long... then you are wasting my time and my time is money.

and.. change your shirt to something 1 color.. it's freaking purple.. it's distracting.. it's like a shirt you bought when you want to go out on ladies night...

then the blog itself... lose the date.. or update the date cause when I see a portfolio date 2010 in 2012 I'm like no way buddy... get a cleaner template.. keep it simple.. make the video stand on itself without the notepad design.. remember that your targets have to actually click on the videos... so those precious moments they move the mouse they don't want to see a notepad design.

So concluding: it's not bad, but it could be much better by paying attention to details...

Yeah, I know the quality of the vids aren't the best - if I had had more time I would have done them... differently.

I'm trying to enlist my gal in re-doing the whole blog, turning it into something more aching a proper home page... I don't like the whole blog them at all really. I was thinking a white background with pictures of the samples as links...

yes making it a more proper homepage is a good start...  also change from youtube to vimeo..  the video quality is better then youtube and it gives a reciever like me the feeling that you know your stuff in this field.. vimeo is for the awesome creative people and youtube is for the common men.. there are many of you out there so all the small details help..

oh, that's great tips! got any more?? You've seen my actual work samples? What did you think about that? As of right now, I' just trying to get in to a copy write course (not an actaul work place).
