Nintendo verkauft 900.000 mobile Spielkonsolen 3DS in Deutschland

(dpa) / (jk)

I'll quickly translate:

19 million sold worldwide

3DS XL sells 20K in first days

Wii 5.2million

Nintendo sold 200k Wiis this year and eyes for 500k for the whole year

I think it would be a good idea to put this Google Translation into the OP so people have some idea of what this is about (my German is beyond pitiful and I can barely translate a word of that myself):
Nintendo has sold 900 000 units in Germany, his mobile game console 3DS. That said, Nintendo Germany boss Bernd Fakesch the Focus. Nintendo did with the 3DS autostereoscopic 3D images into its handheld gaming. Since its launch in Spring 2011 were around 19 million units sold worldwide. The sale was, however, especially after a significant price reduction in speed.

Were appointed by the new model with a larger screen 3DS XL has sold 20,000 copies in the first few days, Nintendo said the manager. Since the launch of the Nintendo DS in 2005 were thus more than 9 million units of the family in Germany had been sold.

The stationary Wii Console in Germany have now reached an installed base of 5.2 million units. This year, Nintendo has sold well over 200,000 so far and looking forward for Wii by year-end sales of 500,000 consoles, Fakesch said. The Wii was launched in late 2006 with its motion-sensitive controller a long time the most successful console in the market, but has passed its peak. End of this year, its successor U Wii hit the market.

Yey

I just noticed that pretty much all the figures seem hugely undertracked on here.
This says 900k LTD for 3DS; VGC has 660k. For the 20k, not sure which week(s) they're referring to, but we only have 9k for launch week and following week. From the wording, it sounds like launch week should be 20k+ alone. The 9m+ figure could include 3DS so it could be fine, but if it's DS alone, then VGC only has ~8.45m.
Wii is definitely majorly undertracked - this says 5.2m so far, but VGC has only 4.75m. Also, YTD is "well over 200k", yet it's under 140k on here.

The 20 is for the "first days" and it is for XL only. If I guess it is shipped not sold (that seems likely), vgchartz-number could be right, if it were for XL alone. But it includes normal 3DS, so I think it's undertracked.

Also keep in mind that are probably strongly rounded figures for marketing. The number that is obviously totally off is the total number of sold 3DS.

And installed base sounds really more like "sold to customer".

well if its undertracked there its overtracked elsewhere as the total numbers are pretty accurate I think.

Not necessarily. The inconsistencies here, while enormous proportionally, aren't all that huge on a WW basis. A couple of hundred thousand here or there would fit into the margin of error for the shipped to sales difference, surely?

So are these good numbers for Germany or bad?

Depends on your view on the things. We have in germany 82 million inhabitants. Not so much less than Japan, but these sales are much worse than the sales in Japan. On the other hand, germany players are usually more focused on PC-gaming. So compared to older console-sales, it shouldn't be bad.

I´d say 900k 3DS doesn´t look too bad compared to 5.2 million Wiis. I know I am comparing a handheld to a home console, but still, I´d say that Nintendo is still pretty popular with all its consoles in Germany.

Wow, im amazed that Turkish made a positive thread about Nintendo
are you trying to compensate?
cause you have a lot of work there....xD

OP
numbers are good for Germany, Europe totals are meh, hopefully the new model and NSMB2 will help...
