lol... Apple isn't going to do that.. a touchscreen remote and Siri voice control would be logical.. this idea is just plain dumb... how are you going to view a 50 inch screen while you are at an arm lenght away from it? |
Actually Nikkom at CES their was several smart TV's with touch screens I watched footage of them being demo'd on G4Tech. Apple developing a touch screen TV with Siri seems inevitable and not far fetched in the least now would you want a fifty inch? Not likely but a 32-inch no problem and I am betting a smaller TV will be launched. Since a smart touch screen TV would be fairly expensive I can't see Apple releasing a large one this winter.
I do not doubt this at all we all have speculated for years that Apple was going to eventually enter the games industry it had to happen sooner or later. This is very bad news if true for any real gamer as others have said the industry has never supported four competitors only three ever make it out and into another generation. If Apple enters they will not be defeated they have 250-billion and no loss would get rid of them. Apple would be here to stay, Nintendo financially doesn't have a shot in hell of taking on Apple. Sony has taken consistent losses and could be knocked out. Microsoft is perhaps the only company with enough financial clout to survive no matter what happens. That is not good for us gamers as the big three are real game companies and Apple is simply a rich technology company looking to blow its massive wad of cash killing off potential competitors
As for Apple going third party to get into the industry lol, Apple is not a game company they are a hardware company that also makes some software. They don't have a massive first party development team line up they don't have properties they don't make games. The only way they enter the industry is with an i-console! As for Apple focusing on Mac, not in their best interest Mac hasn't been the life blood of the company for a long time they nearly bit the dust focusing on Mac. Apple has an opportunity to take over the.living room something Microsoft and Sony have been trying for years. Doing so would be a massive accomplishment for Apple. Also Sony's doing poorly and Kaz is likely going to focus on PS4 to help return the company to profitability, Apple wants to finish Sony off and taking the living room will do just that if Sony losses the TV industry completely once and for all, losses the game console industry permanently and then losses Bluesy to i-Cloud say bye bye Sony. Nintendo's death would be just an added bonus and Microsoft would be hurt. Assuming Apple succeed and remember Apple stuck in the computer industry with just a 5% market share they have endless cash to throw at killing Sony and hurting Microsoft! They would be stupid not to seize the opportunity. But it is not good for us the gaming consumer!
