Attention PC gamers. Go here and you can claim an M-90 Indra Sniper Rifle for Mass Effect 3.

"Reverse-engineered from the Cerberus Arc Projector, the Indra is a prototype sniper-rifle that fires a path of ionized air, then electrifies targets with a lightning bolt of electricity. By first piercing a target with a high-powered shot, the Indra weakens kinetic shields and maximizes damage to electrical systems."

Is that rifle even in the console versions?

News: There’s been some confusion about whether you need to participate in Mass Effect 3′s multiplayer to access the single-player story’s “best” endings, but BioWare have clarified exactly how the system works.

Since Mass Effect 3‘s multiplayer component was first introduced, there has been some confusion about exactly how it affects the available endings in the single-player campaign, especially in regards to the concept of “Galactic Readiness”.

Now Bioware’s Jarett Lee has clarified exactly how players can access the “perfect endings” in ME3, and underlined that “you do NOT have to play multiplayer to get the best single-player endings.”

Lee notes that the confusion arises because if you do not play either the multiplayer component or the iOS spin-off game Mass Effect: Infiltrator the Galactic Readiness will remain at 50%.

But in fact Galactic Readiness is not the essential factor that determines your ending but instead the “Effective Military Strength” bar. “Focus on that bar,” Lee says. “That is your indicator of how well you will do in the end-game.”

The EMS can be maximised just by collecting War Assets throughout the single-player campaign, and “there are MORE than the required amount that can be gathered in the single-player campaign,” Lee states, though he won’t reveal the threshold that you will need to exceed.

Galactic Readiness instead acts as a modifier upon your EMS, meaning that if you do participate in multiplayer or Infiltrator, the amount of War Assets you will require for the “perfect ending” in single-player is reduced.

“EMS = success,” Lee summarises, and it”can be maximized via collecting war assets alone, even if your Galactic Readiness is 50%.”

So, I guess all that shitstorm about there being just one ending has finally been clarified. I love it when people who have a pirated game for only one day can create such a huge shitstorm as they did in regards to the endings.

Wrong on so many levels. We knew from the script leak(second one which was more complete) what the endings were going to be. The "shitstorm" happened for something that wasn't in the leak, is in all ending variations, makes no sense, and it basically exists just for drama.

No one got the information from the pirated game, because at the time there was no crack. More information was available from people who played the Space Edition, and it is identical to the full game. And datamining the game's file when it was preloaded.

If you really want I can tell you the EMS needed for each end. This article does not state anything I did not know. Telling you why people are upset would be spoilers.

Well, from what I recalled over at seeing some of the shitstorms that ocurred was that this whole deal occured when they Datamined the endings. I know about the script leaks and that people were already pissed off back then.

Also, I've read several posts with diverging feelings on what happens next (only those with no spoilers). Some people say that it makes no sense (as you do), and others say that they weren't expecting a different outcome in the end. I'm sorry if my conclusions from that news piece were wrong, but they were made mostly on non-spoiled opinions of what I've been reading online, since i'm purpousedly avoiding any kind of spoilers.

OT - My N7 CE just arrived at my GFs house today....but I can only get my hands on it tomorrow

Take this shit to Private Message or not at all.

about 8 hours in...but I take 2 hours away since insanity is kicking my ass!!! met up with Jack and Miranda, it very interesting were they stand in ME3. I'm love all the customization that's available in ME3; so far a prefect blend of ME1 and ME2. I'm very curious of the Illusive Man and cerberus...they seems like absolute asses as of now(now Im worried since I left them the collector base....)

as of now my party consists of:
Liara
Edi
Jarvik(from the "Rise from Ashes" DLC)
Garrus
James

though there is one thing that has me confused...I know for a fact that I chose Anderson for human council, but Udina's in his place? did Anderson give Udina his job?

For most people it was a combination of factors that led to anger, the endings being the straw that broke the camels back.

And I'm willing to admit that ME3 will be a good game, it saddens me that a lot of things could have been easily fixed and I get the impression that the devs did not care and simply phoned it in. An example would be the controls for the PC version which are basically does from ME2, including spring and cover assigned to the same button.

And I hope you have fun with the game.

I will apologize if I would have posted any spoilers, but I did not so calm down. I merely corrected something I though was wrong or a gross simplification of why some people are upset with ME3.

I would not spoil the game like saying that if you did not save the fish you can't get the best ending.

That was a joke.

He resigns between ME2 and ME3 and Udina gets the job. This is hinted at in the book Mass Effect: Retribution.

Oh I agree with you on the PC version control complaints since they're basically the same I had since ME2. ME1 had already a nice cover system, so I don't know why they went and changed that to a less functional version. Not only a separation of cover and sprint buttons would have been nice, but they inclusion of more hotkeys would also be welcomed too.

I'm not saying that ME3 won't have various issues in some departments since the two previous games had them as well, but from everything I've read online, if you didn't knew anything about the series or the games, one would think that this was a completely non-functional and utterly bad game worthy of figuring with the likes of Big Rigs.

The game has got some really impressive reviews. 10/10 from eurogamer is really unexpected.
