I gotta check, man. 80% of all players roll Soldier. I just, I gotta check.

This is one of the things I like best about the multiplayer mode - Soldier is easily and obviously the least fun class, which may (which is to say, it actually does) strong-arm people into trying new classes and character builds.

I have to disagree with you on that I think the least fun MP class is Biotic, I prefer Combat engineer and Soldier.

And the best class for the main campaign is Soldier, I think thats why most of the people prefer that class

Every single class has more options than Soldier when it comes to approaching situations. Soldiers have one thing going for them in ME3: gun loadout. In ME2 they had Adrenaline Rush, which only served to accentuate their gun loadouts.

As ever, if you want to try out a class that's high-octane and a lot of fun, try Vanguard. There's a reason so many Soldiers are trying it out in multi: it is awesome.

And the best class for campaign in ME2 is arguable, but if I had to pick one based on the "You will almost definitely win" factor, it would probably be Sentinel before Soldier, since they are essentially unkillable even on Insanity

I wanted to try the vanguard class in the MP but you can only play as female.

I didn´t even know about the sentinel class, though it doesn´t really really sound like much if you are almost invincible.

Well, Sentinels are only really useful on ME2, mainly because of their Tech Armour which does make them technically unbeatable. On ME it's a pretty weak class (especially on the first playthrough with no extra specialization) and on ME3, from what I saw on the Demo, Tech Armour has been seriously toned down, so you're no longer unbeatable.

I'd say that on ME2, the best class to use on Insanity is Infiltrator. You're not invincible (actually your character is pretty frail), but with proper use of Tactical Cloak (and if you happen to have Kasumi on your party, Flashbang Grenades), you can destroy anything without barely a scratch (especially after getting the Widow Maker Sniper on the Collector's Ship).

I got through Insanity as a Vanguard eventually. Tried Sentinel later on and it felt like Veteran. Vanguard was easily my fav class in ME1 so that was another reason I didn't like 2 quite as much.

I won't go through them all but covering the screen with capillaries when I really needed to see, having shep stand up and shake his head when he got hit and really needed to take cover, removing planetary exploration and looting for dollars. Limiting armour and weapon customization as part of EA's paid dlc conspiracy. Oh and adding reloading and stopping at interstellar 'reaction mass' stations cause I really missed dying while reloading from every damn game I ever played and paying for gas from real life. Always a treat. That about covers it.

So much for your alleged 'promo' thread. Sowwwy.

Haven't found anything out yet, thankfully. Would be good to see the old squad members returning though, Thane and Legion are my favourite ones by far.

I bet anything that at least Legion will have a very important development on ME3 if you recruited him and did his loyalty mission. Hope we can get the Geth to fight at our side against the reapers, though something tells me we won't have the possibility of having both the Geth and the Quarian, but hopefully I'm wrong xD.

I have a feeling that won't be the case. If you play through both Tali and Legion's loyalty missions and listen to their arguement. Both races feel the other is trying to wipe out the other. I had my Paragon Shepard yell at them both, and from what I read into it, they both saw the extremes of what their races were doing. Feel that if your character is highly Paragon or Renegade you could achieve something similar in Mass Effect 3 that leads to a Quarian-Geth alliance. At least that is what I'm hoping for. Bioware my have found that to be too predicatble and found a better option (in which case I'm all for that).

Both my Renegade and Paragon Shepards made possible some kind of truce between Tali and Legion, but I just don't see a Quarian-Geth alliance possible, mostly because I have a feeling that Admiral Xen of the Flotilla might actually come up with something that will actually threaten all the Geth based on Tali's father research. And since there are two pro-war admirals against one anti-war admiral on the admirality board, the odds are stacked against such an alliance.

I think I'm going to be sick.

You think I would play a soldier?

I was a Vanguard in ME1, and an Adept and then a Sentinel in ME2.

I question that figure. 80% seems far too high.

I always roll magical/psychic classes, and I refuse to believe that only 20% of my fellow gamers do the same.

Again, I feel that this is where you actions in 1 and 2 could really make and impact. Although I've not yet completed this bit, Tali's Pilgramage in ME1 involved collecting data on the Geth. That could turn out to support an alliance as the the game doesn't show you what the data is. There could be other factors involving other quarians in the game, such as the the one contracted as a slave on Illium, saving the survivor stranded on a remote world and helping the one stuck on Omega. Just got to wait and see!

Sorry, I double-checked - it's 65% Soldiers. 82% were the number of male Shepards.

What... what's wrong with playing a female? It's not like this is your Shepard, it's just a Special Forces character.

Sentinel will retain their abilities in ME3 even though they're no longer indestructible, if only because their ability to strip all defenses is still fantastic. To say nothing of Lift Grenades, which are a treat.

It was really Tech Armour that made Sentinels invincible.

It was honestly almost too easy to be a Sentinel in ME2 with Tech Armour. The defence stripping was a bonus.
