Forums - Gaming - Destructoid: BioWare writer's vagina versus the Internet

Is her suggestion such a bad thing though? It's not like she's asking for content to be cut from the game or anything, and her argument does make sense. We have cs skip features, why not offer content skippers for single player games? Of course I would never utilize such a thing, but the option isn't a horrible idea.

However I can say that I found Dragon Ages story to be quite bad before I quit.

This entire thing is very dumb, and everyone involved should be ashamed for being a dumbass.

It sounds like she should write for the movie industry instead of the game industry.

VS

Who will win??

Internet will win cause it already has tons of vaginas.

Apparently, this is Jennifer Hepler

Come to think of it, I would like for cutscene-heavy games like MGS to have more extensive theater modes. Sometimes I want to replay a game for the gameplay, sometimes I just want to experience the story again. I'm not sure about her philosophy, but considering how some games are with their stories nowadays, her idea makes sense.

I love Jim Sterling so :)

If you want to skip combat and just have dialogue... why don't you watch a movie?

The reason why you can skip dialogue is so that you can get back to the gameplay.

The internet is a fickle and often cruel beast, the reaction towards her is hardly suprising. Those comments are stupid and immature, but what do you expect from the intrawebs?

(Also Flynn was pretty much spot on)

There is a lot more to gameplay then combat. In many games I would love a button to skip combat or boss battles. Exploration, dialogue, puzzle solving, diplomacy, trying out different things is where it's at for me. Repetitive combat and drawn out boss battles tend to get in the way.

I really hoped the story mode in ME3 would cut back on the repetitive combat, reduce the battles to a few key battles instead of the same 4-5 guys around every corner. Unfortunately from the demo it looks like the narritive combat setting only makes you pretty much invincible. I'll be trying to run by them at the 3rd samish encounter.

If you just want combat, why don't you play a fighter ;)
