Apart from her being a fellow Brit and keeping our worldwide music tradition alive, I don't like Adele's music, it's so dull and tedious
But check out a track from my son's band below this post :P

Adele breaks through the 20 million milestone.

My prediction threads:
Wii U will sell under 40m units (made on 14th September 2012)
PS Vita will sell under 20m units (made on 30th September 2012)
Wii U will sell under 7m in 2013 - I was right
Adele deserves all the fame...
haven't heard to Madonna's album yet but chances are , t will have a sharp drop following weeks, much like Rihanna
don't mind my username, that was more than 10 years ago, I'm a different person now, amazing how people change ^_^

Yeah, next week Adele's 21 will sell ~250k, whereas, Madonna may fall as low as ~180k perhaps. MDNA sold 359k in the US in its first week, and next week it is expected to sell only 40k, representing a 90% decline... Disastrous!

man-bear-pig said: Thanks for updating guiduc, I forgot all about it. Great sales for Adele as always, and surprisingly stable sales for Lana Del Ray. Also, it's weird how these Japanese acts appear which huge sales and then disappear of the charts the following week... Oh, and Madonnas new album is out in a few weeks. Any predictions about 1st week sales? |
Japanese albums are generally extremely front-loaded in sales. It's just how Japanese consumers buy. For example, Utada Hikaru's 2001 album "Distance" sold 3,002,000 copies in its first week, which is 67% of its total lifetime sales. It happens that way a lot.
Anyway, here's what I've read about Madonna's album:
"Madonna's tally was inflated by a promotion involving her upcoming world tour. U.S. fans who bought a concert ticket were given a code which could be redeemed for either a physical or digital copy of MDNA. This same policy boosted the debut of Bon Jovi's Lost Highway, which opened at #1 in July 2007, and Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers' Mojo, which bowed at #2 in June 2010." (Source: Yahoo!)
So I guess it's not surprising that her album fell so quickly.
Adele enters the Top 10 of the best selling singles of all time with "Rolling in the Deep" and Gotye's "Somebody That I Used to Know" dethrones Rihanna as 2012's best selling single to date.
