I highly doubt it!!! When I played the PSVita @ BestBuy the Sony rep denied there would be any announcement, and he sounded pretty honest...and no hesitation when he said it. But if Sony comes with an announcement I'm going to be very shocked and extremely happy because that would be the smartes thing to do to be honest. They are doing great with the PS3 but a side by side launch with the next Xbox it will really show how dominant the PlayStation brand is and obliterate the competition.

ps4 here we come!

Yes let's announce then now, then launch them in November of 2013 and kill off PS3's and 360's sales momentum for a year and a half. Why...why.

Exactly what I've been saying... its way too obvious people. Quit being in denial.

Same in E3 2005 when PS3/"Revolution" was first discussed a year before they were finalized and released.

We will see all three next gen consoles in some form in June.

Retail reps have no insider info. All their information is primarily publically known.

I sure hope so. It needs a side-by-side launch with the next Xbox.

Infact reps are usually hired contracters from a third party organization. (by reps, I mean the ones directly dealing with any consumers, the one dealing with retailer most likely would be within the company.)

Also even the ones that within the company, would lack knowledge of projects that are still in the pre-announcement phrase. The less non-vital people know about it the better, since it is harder for number of individuals to keep their mouth shut about information.

I sincerely hope so. I am more than ready for next gen, this one has gotten stale.

Lets hope that Sony can make this thing powerful, affordable, and profitable. I think the key to next gen is usability, and 1080P/60FPS minimum requirement for all games. Let people check apps, browse the web, steam video/music, and keep a game going in the background and consumers should be really happy.

Time to hibernate tell June.

Stop hate, let others live the life they were given. Everyone has their problems, and no one should have to feel ashamed for the way they were born. Be proud of who you are, encourage others to be proud of themselves. Learn, research, absorb everything around you. Nothing is meaningless, a purpose is placed on everything no matter how you perceive it. Discover how to love, and share that love with everything that you encounter. Help make existence a beautiful thing.

There will not be a 60fps minimum requirement on games next gen. There never has been. There never will be. Developers will always always always opt for more effects at 30fps than less effects at 60fps. It's the rare and precious ones who go for smoothness over flair.
