Forums - Microsoft Discussion - Kinect Star Wars release date set for April, Limited edition 'R2-D2' Xbox 360 also confirmed

The game looks terrible, but the console, especially the control looks really nice :) I wish Sony would release more of these worldwide than just Japan :S

Love the console look. Dislike everything I've seen about the game. I'm not a Star Wars nut, but still it pains me a little to see such a popular and interesting franchise reduced to "Galactic Dance Mode". I guess I can understand a bit more why the die hard fans from the OT bay for Lucas's blood these days.

Do love the console though. I'd be tempted to buy that and bin the game.

Try to be reasonable... its easier than you think...

This game looks like shit... Hopefully RySe and New Fable will be amazing on Kinect.

Is there any demo available now? Until I try the demo, I don't want to judge the game only by watching some footages.

But I have to say that Inside XBOX - KINECT ALL ACCESS show is really stupid. Microsoft, do you know how to promote your games?

April......1st?? LOL XD

Sweet looking console the game looks so bad though!

£350 for this is a shocking price, i'd never pay that the redesign doesn't justify the price to me but i have no doubt this will be a sell out though

They probably held it back to ride on the coattails of the re-releases of SW movies in 3D also.

$399 isn't too bad for an awesome looking console with an equally awesome controller, plus Kinect and Star Wars. Too bad you can't buy the console by itself for say $299.99... this thing would fly off shelves.

You know I was always wondering why no one ever used the dollar sign for $ony, but then I realized they have no money so it would be pointless.

He wasn't even involved in creating this though.  Blaming SW Kinect on Lucas would be the same as blaming him for that Christmas Special.

1 - no point pointing this out to me.  I'm the messanger on how others react.

2 - Lucas knew about and authorised the use of the characters for the SW Special.  He wasn't involved but he has admitted in interviews I've seen that he and the team at Lucasfilm made a bad decision allowing it.  Which leads to...

3 - He is seen as the figurehead for the franchise.  George Lucas controls and owns all IP for Star Wars - if there's a Kinect Star Wars game it has to have been approved by at least his organization.  Fundamentatlly, if he chose he could prevent such use of the IP so the fans will always ultimately blamce him.

I will say though - you have reminded me that Kinect Star Wars cannot be the nadir for the franchise as that honour will probably (hopefully) always lie with the Christmas Special.

I would've bought this if it wasn't $449, too expensive for me.

Really cool looking XBox.
