It´s decided then.
slowmo makes the 360 thread, and Rol makes the Wii one.

My threads die a death because I lack the natural wit and sense of good fun. It would attract more fun replies if posted by Seece, Kow or perhaps even Selnor
Apparently the PS3 has cut the lead down to under 2 million and may not finish "last" this gen. Change anybody's mind?
And since nobody made the thread, I'll go ahead and make it.......
Yes, it has profited. If it passes the 360 it will be one of the greatest comeback stories in gaming. Period.
In a sense, it's like looking at a progress report. How many F's did the PS3 get. And, does one F mean the entire thing is a failure? To some people, yeah.
But, I don't think it's fair to ask the question only because of the 360... It's like.. if there were 59 million 360's out, and PS3 was in the exact same position it's in now, all of a sudden, the PS3 becomes even more of a success?
As far as I'm concerned, everything's split split now... Tekken's on 360, and, so is a lot of stuff. But, that really doesn't do anything for me, now does it? It's not like it isn't on PS3 anymore.. Like what originally happened with Ace Combat...
The only thing I care about is, how will this effect PS4...

Games-Thats kind of been laid out this gen. Sony has the highest chance of having the best new first party IP's next gen ( Speaking in percentage of sheer quality and quantity. Doesn't mean they will sell the best) from a first party perspective, then Nintendo and then Microsoft. Microsoft will showcase their new branches next gen.
HD console to launch first- I think Sony wont allow Microsoft to do this. They will launch around the same time which will force consumers to think hard about which console they want first.
Price- this will be a huge factor for the PS4 and 720. Nintendo never has a hard time making profit off of their consoles.
Peripherals? How will Sony showcase the Move next gen? How will Microsoft showcase Kinect next gen? The Wii U...well we have an idea and it will include lots of variety, but will be less of a household gaming console. I dont expect it to sell as well as the Wii.
(This is my take from what we know now. E3 will spell the future more accurately.)
Is better than Ps2 in terms of sales? No
Is better than Ps2 in terms of quality? (imo) No
=> (imo) Not a success.
Is the PS3 a success? yes
Did it succeed financially? yes
Commercially? yes
Did it live up to Sony's expectations? yes
DId it provide the type of games that justified its existence? yes
Is the PS3 the underdog console that overcame all odds to become a hit or is the PS3 the console that was groomed for to be king, only to be beaten by its two rivals? No
Consider the PS3's competition. Consider the PS3's legacy. Consider the PS3's obstacles. Consider the PS3's contributions. Consider all of this and tell me if Sony and the gaming world are better off with the PS3 on the market.
well when you put it like that. not one of these 7th gen. failures of consoles should have been made.
Financially? Not exactly, but it got Tales of Graces f so yes it is.
Food for thought: Shove an apple in your brain

You can do bad in a couple and still be a success if you do well where it really counts! Those where just rhetorical questions for people to consider. I'm sure there were other questions like "Did the PS3 help you get laid" or something. Take what's important to you--games, graphics, profit, sales, sexification, whatever--and decide if the PS3 succeeded in your eyes.
My point of view: It lost money and it didn't sell as well as expected but it bounced back strong, provided some great games, and some impressive features. Was it an overall success or a failure? Well......I did vote.
