Sony - Is the PS3 a success? - View Post

In a sense, it's like looking at a progress report. How many F's did the PS3 get. And, does one F mean the entire thing is a failure? To some people, yeah.

But, I don't think it's fair to ask the question only because of the 360... It's like.. if there were 59 million 360's out, and PS3 was in the exact same position it's in now, all of a sudden, the PS3 becomes even more of a success?

As far as I'm concerned, everything's split split now... Tekken's on 360, and, so is a lot of stuff. But, that really doesn't do anything for me, now does it? It's not like it isn't on PS3 anymore.. Like what originally happened with Ace Combat...

The only thing I care about is, how will this effect PS4...

Games-Thats kind of been laid out this gen. Sony has the highest chance of having the best new first party IP's next gen ( Speaking in percentage of sheer quality and quantity. Doesn't mean they will sell the best) from a first party perspective, then Nintendo and then Microsoft. Microsoft will showcase their new branches next gen.

HD console to launch first- I think Sony wont allow Microsoft to do this. They will launch around the same time which will force consumers to think hard about which console they want first.

Price- this will be a huge factor for the PS4 and 720. Nintendo never has a hard time making profit off of their consoles.

Peripherals? How will Sony showcase the Move next gen? How will Microsoft showcase Kinect next gen? The Wii U...well we have an idea and it will include lots of variety, but will be less of a household gaming console. I dont expect it to sell as well as the Wii.

(This is my take from what we know now. E3 will spell the future more accurately.)
