Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Underappreciated DS Games

Another one of my strategy favorites would be Advance Wars: Days of Ruin. Definitely not an easy game but tons of fun.

Exactly what I was going to post.  I just finished a replay of Dual Strike and I got this game about a week ago.  One of the best strategy games the world has ever seen.

For some reason, despite the fact that I own multiple DS systems, I wound up neglecting my DS.  For the past few years, all I've bought were Cooking Mama games and other kiddie fare.  It became my kid's system.  Now, with the 3DS on the market, I find myself reevaluating the entire DS library.  There's a ton of games I want to buy, now.

  • Hotel Dusk
  • Phoenix Wright (series)
  • Professor Layton (series)
  • Spirit Tracks and Phantom Hourglass
  • The World Ends With You
  • Bowser's Inside Story
  • Elite Beat Agents

Quite a few more.  It's amazing how much goodness I've overlooked over the past few years.  I'm making up for it now, though.

RADIANT HISTORIA!!! one of the best RPG's I've played this gen!!!

what's with people saying "The World Ends With you" is a underaprreciated game...I thought it got alot of buzz when it came out

I'll have to go with Meteos also. I played the game to death when it first came out and was the first game I recommended to other DS owners.

Also the 2 SMT games, Devil Survivor and Strange Journey. I love those games as well and felt that they deserved to sell more. At least Devil Survivor got a re-release and sequel.

I could go on. I just love my DS. I sometimes wonder why I even have a Wii and 360. The DS gets all the love.

Meteos. Hands down the most under appreciated. I guess Contact but that's a matter of taste.

I have heard of contact before, what is it about? I know I could google it, but I am just under the threshold of caring to do all of that. But I am interested.

It's a game by grasshopper studios (you can see why I played it now) in where you control a kid named Terry to recover lost emeralds to restore the professors ship all the while another group of people are trying to get the emeralds. The game is a semi action RPG and you get different clothes/classes and go around a strange world. It's story is great but doesn't pay off until the very end. It's not for the need to kill something every 5 seconds gamer and it does feel like a port of a GBA game, but its one of those games that made me happy when I finished it. If you play it and don't like it after the first hour then you will definatly hate it.

don't waste time

Radiant Historia
Okamiden [I know many people doesn't agree with me, but I like this game more than ds zelda]
Ghost Trick
Knight in The Nightmare
Blue Dragon Plus [I know it's not a great game, but I think this game is more fun and better than FFXII Revenant Wing]

Personally, I think all of these deserve better sales...

I've only played a few hours of it, but Soma Bringer deserves a lot more respect and more importantly a localisation by NoE

I think Nintendo users are a bit biased against GTA, otherwise I can't explain why a good entry in a so popular series has sold just a few copies, and no one remebers it.

This game also deserves more attention, it has a few mistakes imo, but the storyline is brilliant.

^ I wouldn't call 1.22 million "just a few copies".

I can't even tell what that bottom game is (unless it's called 999).  Looks like a bunch of fans chasing Justin Bieber, to me.
