I was looking for a more "Adult" site.

In terms of video game related discussions, of course... not porn.

I started lurking a few months after the PS3 launch, cause I was a huge fan of the PS2 (first console I personally owned, my family had others before that I used, but the PS2 was mine), and Insomniac Games (Still am, though perhaps not as much as I was). I wasn't actually looking for sales, but I somehow stumbled across the site as I was looking at the launch titles (R:FoM being the big one). I was a rather awful fanboy then, though I thankfully didn't post too much when I first joined (... I think). Now, thanks to the community that was around back then, I've gotten well past that, and I've even come to learn a lot outside of gaming. As cheesy as it sounds, I've gotten a lot of my views in life from various debates on these forums.

I didn't join VGC right away though just when I found out I needed an account to see more pages of software data. At that point, I didn't even think I was ever going to post in the forums.

Me and my friends came upon this site like 5 years ago or something.

NexGenWars and then somehow i found out about site, maybe through a friend or forums. this was like 4-5 years ago or something. i did not sign up until a while after though

Started with nexgenwars. Don`t know exactly why, nor how i met this site, but after seeing all the sales data and one of TheSource`s articles (about sales for Wii, PS3 and Xbox 360 for the future years) i just add to keep coming back. It was back in 2007.

I ended up on the charts page through a google search, and there I saw TWRoO and BengaBenga have a discussion with someone in the comments section. I thought they (Benga and Twroo) were wrong about whatever the discussion was about, so I signed up and supported the guy I've now forgotten who was.

In the end, it turned out I was wrong, though. But I was proven wrong through people being polite and using proper arguments, rather than the bickering that had been on all other video game sites I'd been interested in.

It was just brilliant, really. Loads of clever, interesting and polite people and a load of lovely charts and numbers. It was just golden for a somewhat pedantic statistics lover.
